I’m going into my junior year, and like basically every other junior, I’m expecting to barely get any sleep 😭

On most days, I probably won’t get home until around 7 PM, and I’m expecting to have around 5 hours of homework/studying. Realistically, that means I probably won’t get to bed until around midnight, and I have to wake up around 7 AM, so I’d be getting about 7 hours of sleep a night.

I know teenagers are supposed to get more like 8–10 hours, so I’m wondering how bad 7 hours actually is if it’s happening pretty consistently. Is there anything I can do to sort of make up for the lack of sleep or make sure I’m still functioning well during the day?

I really don’t want to rely on energ

I'm taking AP Lang this year, even though I'm the last person who should be because for the life of me, I cannot write literary analysis essays, and I know that AP Lang focuses on rhetorical analysis BUT all my friends who took the class previously say that you have to be able to identify the same things you would in literary analysis (theme, figurative language, chracterization, etc.) and write about them. I NEED ADVICE on what I can do one month before school starts so I don't actually fail the class.

I saw a couple college counselors on Instagram ranking high school students stats/ecs and they stated that though people say the SAT and ACT are both equally preferred, The ACT is considered to be the easier (less preferred ) test. I was wondering whether this is true or are they just spreading misinformation?

I keep seeing everyone online having crazy awards and ecs. I’m wondering what is considered average now? Like is this what is expected by admissions officers or r only people with crazy stats posting?

Hi!! I’m a rising junior interested in applying to business schools, likely for finance, but I feel like my extracurriculars don’t really match that interest and tbh aren’t that impressive compared to other applicants.

Most of my activities are in civic engagement and community service cuz those are the opportunities I’ve found and genuinely enjoyed.

My main activities are:

  • co-President of my school’s Community Service Board
  • Peer Leader (a selective program for upperclassmen to mentor underclassmen within my school)
  • Stage Manager/Assistant Stage Manager for school theater productions
  • New Jersey Division on Civil Rights Youth Ambassador Program
  • Model UN
  • Key Club (maybe an amb

So I've been practicing for the July ACT, specifically the math section, using the ACT prep book (2024-2025), and I've found that the practice problems are relatively straightforward and not extremely difficult, but I started doing some online practice problems and tests (not created by the ACT), and I found those were really hard. So I was wondering whether the math problems in the act prep book are similar to what would appear on the test.

Also I have taken Algebra 1 & 2, and Geometry. I haven't taken precalc yet.

So at like 8 in the morning I took my lenses off and I put them in their case but I forgot to put the clear care solution. I just realized this as i was about to put them on to go to bed at 2:30 am…are my lenses damaged from being able to dry out all day??

So in my school, you have to submit a writing sample to get into AP Lang, and for some reason, I did, and I got approved for the class, but writing has never been my strong suit, and I often struggle conveying my ideas promptly, so is there anything I could do over the summer to help me prepare for the year?
