I'm constructing missiles using printers and now I want to trigger a timer automatically when the printing is complete, so that I can run initialization logic. I tried achieving this with an event controller monitoring block integrity of all printed blocks. It seems this method is quite unreliable because some of the monitored blocks appear as "unknown block" in the event controller and the event never triggers.
How do you solve this? Are there any known quirks with event controllers? Are there alternative approaches? Thank you so much.
I'm wondering if player built missiles are actually worth the effort in vanilla. I've sunk countless hours into figuring out and testing a missile design, complete with a printer. But the performance is underwhelming: 100m/s for a missile just does not cut it since they're being picked up by point defense too easily and to me it seems like the AI blocks are rather slow thinkers and take forever to lock on to a target, only to miss in the first pass.
For one missile to hit I need to launch four at the same time and even then a hit is rare. And the effect of the warheads (SG) is meager.
Are SG missiles viable at all? Am I missing something (probably)?
Am I better off investing into drones
Does anybody know the exact damage range of prototech thrusters? It seems it extends much further than the usual 7 large grid blocks of ions
I was battling a SPRT bruiser the other day and noticed that all my assault turrets were constantly missing it, even when it was going straight ahead. It seemed like they were constantly aiming to short.
I understand that the turrets haven't got the best accuracy and hitting a moving target is even more difficult. But the way they were constantly missing in the same direction made me suspicious. I would have expected at least an occasional hit every now and then.
I don't understand the turret mechanics too well, so I was hoping to get some advice on how to improve their accuracy.

After declaring war on everybody and starting to clear out the galaxy I came across some indestructible stations. Does anybody know anything about it? Is it because of some quests? Is there any way to get rid of them?
