I have converted a few panoramas to environments now in Vision OS 27.
I found one I really liked and have been using it for a while. While I was doing work in there and moving my head around, I suddenly realized - stuff in the foreground is slightly shifting compared to stuff in the background!
I tested a bit more and sure enough, all of the nearer foreground elements shift more as you move your head.
You can tell it kind of makes up some of the data behind the thing shifting. The only downside right now is the edges around some very sharp features (like big rocks) seem to have a small blur fringe around them (I submitted a Feedback report on that).
Just thought that was a cool aspect
Found this great post on X summarizing how far we are away from real highs in silver yet:
https://x.com/GoldSilverHQ/status/2021132528480866507
Short and sweet, I'll quote the entirety here as well:
Silver is 2.5x away from CPLie adjusted all-time high.
Silver is 9.1x away from M2 inflation adjusted all-time high.
Silver is 21.2x away from Shadowstats CPI adjusted all-time high.
Anyone can answer, but I thought dealers might have more insight...
One of the things I'd tried now at two dealers, is to bring in some higher premium silver stuff (like Chronos rounds or other things at that level) with the thought I'd trade for items the dealer had that I liked more - thinking I could trade an ounce for an ounce, or maybe some small amount of additional money or an extra ounce of silver from me for what they have.
But in two stores in two states now, instead what I get is that they say they will buy the silver I have at their buy-back rates ($10-$15 lower than spot), and I can use those funds to buy the silver at the listed price which is usually $10-$15 above spot.
So
Ran across a post on X that linked to this deal on Best Buy to get an "Open Box" version of the PSVR2 labeled "excellent" which I assume means all the parts are there... $147.
I was passing through Santa Fe today and the sign for an LCS caught my eye. I stopped in with a plan - I've been carrying around 10 1oz coins thinking.I would trade them for something I liked more...
The shop actually had a decent selection of stuff, constitutional, premium rounds (like ATB 5oz quarters, a few Star Wars and Marvel coins), old shipwreck silver. They also had a lot of great looking silver jewelry like bands and chains and belt buckles, being in Santa Fe some of it has turquoise inlays but not all.
I ended up trading seven of my coins for a really cool 5oz Apollo 11 commemorative round with a moon footprint in it, that I've been wanting for years. The way they did the trade w
The recent pop and final validation of HYMC from Eric Sprott had me thinking back to a major force in HYMC's original decline long ago.. this Doomburg article trashing Hycroft, and both AMC and Eric Sprott for buying in, which always irked me for ignoring good aspects of the mine and ownership:
https://newsletter.doomberg.com/p/a-fool-and-his-gold
Some fun quotes:
"In other words, the Hycroft Mine is a low-grade refractory deposit from which it is nearly impossible to extract gold in a way that makes money."
Yet the mine seems very profitable at current gold prices, and Doomberg had predicted higher gold prices ahead..
A
Was really nice to have HYMC as a position today, I own some other gold and silver miners (hey don't judge!) and many of them were down... not HYMC! It continues to advance.
Thanks HYMC for stopping what could have been a gloomy market day.
Well I broke down and bought something pretty illogical, a blind-box from APMEX:
https://www.apmex.com/product/322198/vaultbox-prime-mystery-box-pcgs
The allure here is that in this mystery box of just THREE graded coins, one of them might be something really valuable... and among the valuable coins you may get is the Liberty gold bronco coin I missed out on (had an order the mint canceled at the time).
So it's like a 1/750 chance to get the bronco. There are at least some other valuable possibilities (other gold and some platinum coins) but I'm pretty sure what you get will generally not make up for the price of the
Looking around, I have to say this seems like the worst Black Friday for deals I have seen in years... not just because the spot price went up so much overnight that it negates any savings you might have had over buying at the start of the week, but also I see very few at-spot deals - or at-spot deals that have a cap of 1 oz!
On both silver and gold, just not seeing much appealing to buy today.
This is the week when traditionally at-spot precious metals deals come out, I'm on the lookout for something great for either silver or gold!
It could well have been silver price spiked up again but nope we get deals and a relatively low silver price to start the week!
