Hi everyone!

Sharing a little hobby project in case it's useful. It's a free map of Kruger that shows where each animal gets recorded most, built from public sighting data (GBIF and iNaturalist). Pick an animal and you see the hotspots and the months it's logged most often.

No ads, not commercial, nothing to sign up for. It only reflects what people have reported, so treat it as a guide and not a promise. I'd love to hear whether it matches what you see in the park, and what you'd like added.

Admins, if this isn't allowed here, just tell me and I'll take it down.

I've just published a comprehensive first-timer's guide to Kruger National Park on my wildlife travel site, and thought this community might find it useful.

It covers pretty much everything I wished I'd known before my first visit:

- Best time to go (dry vs wet season, what each means for wildlife)

- SANParks rest camps vs private lodges — honest pros and cons

- Staying inside the park vs day-tripping from outside

- The different regions of Kruger and what each is best for

- Self-driving tips and gate times

- The Big Five and what else to look for

- Photography tips, what to pack, health and malaria considerations

- Budgeting — from backpacker to luxury

- Common first-ti
