I recently upgraded my build to a 5090 and I'm looking to actually use it.

I'm about to purchase an OLED monitor. Looking at 4k, 27", and 160hz+. I've considered doing 32" but it just feels so big.

The main concern I have is that I spend 8 hours a day coding and a few hours at night gaming. It's a lot of visual work (I'm in gaming / web dev) so it's not like it would be wasted, but still dominantly using a text editor.

Every single search brings up people panicking about burn in and text quality. At 4k on a 27", it's hard to imagine text will be an issue. But is burn in as bad as everyone says?

I'm looking at the Samsung G8 so it's got the gen 3 panel I think. For $800, it's steep, but

Just the title.

Was looking to get a gaming OLED monitor that supports 4k since I just upped my graphics card. I'll also use it for work and there's some decent ambient light during the day so I wanted to opt for the WOLED instead of QD OLED.

I'm at a viewing distance of roughly 3ft. I would consider 32" but the high PPI of the 27 in and the being distance made me go this direction.

If anyone has advice, I would happily accept!

Hey all, I'm struggling to find info here so hoping someone might have something to share.

I'm about to install a 9950x3d and, with the Liquid Pro 360 on backorder, I'm considering using a 240.

I've read the 9950x3d runs less hot but is it sufficiently so for me to use a 240?

I'm using an O11 Vision Compact

My case would allow for it to have both those fans dump as an exhaust out the back. Otherwise, I'd need to do the 360 as side mounted intakes.

I've looked at the benchmarks and it seems like the 240 would be sufficient. Anyone with experience to share would be greatly appreciated!

Hey all! Just got the printer running and set up and I'm curious about ventilation. I've read everything from "enclosing it will fry the components" to "you're inhaling poison please vent".

So I ask you -- what are the risks? Am I inhaling poison? Is cracking a window enough? Do I need a grow tent with a HEPA filter? I do smell fumes when it's printing but nothing too strong.

Help me out!

Hey all!

Basically the title -- is DND Beyond worth it for my setup?

I've been on hiatus for a while but we're looking to resume our campaign this summer. Looking at the 2024 handbooks, there's a LOT of improvements I particularly enjoy, so I'm going to permit my players to modify their characters and rebuild at the current point in the campaign.

However, looking I see that there's the new digital books where if I buy through the WOTC marketplace, I can get the digital books for DND Beyond as well. I've never used it before, so I'm curious how other DMs feel.

My setup is:

  1. In person.
  2. VTT (Roll20 but looking at Foundry) with a TV built into our table.
  3. Manual rolling cause rolling

Hey all,

Curious if someone could help me make a silly decision. I'd like to build a Pokedex and combine cards from all the different sets to make it happen. End goal is simply one of every pokemon with opportunities to get some cool art versions slotted in there of course.

Normally I would just do a giant binder with individual pages, but I'd like to use my favorite versions of the cards for the dex so using a toploader binder simply makes more sense. I've seen giant 1000 card toploader binders, but the more common ones are around 200 to 250 or so.

I considered doing a single binder for each region/gen, but some generations have <100 pokemon so a 252 page binder is overkill.

I recognize

Alright, someone help me out... Because I don't know what they're talking about here in the latest WW defensive change:

Dance of the Wind now increases dodge chance by 2% per stack in PvP combat (was 10%). Developers’ notes: This change moves Dance of the Wind below the base hit chance threshold even at max stacks.

What is "base hit chance threshold"?

Hey all! Prevoker here but also play all the healers because I hate myself.

For those of you in shuffle or arena, especially between 1400 and 2000ish, you probably find yourself focusing DPS most fights.

That's generally a good strategy. Maybe you even swap to another DPS when defensives show up.

But there is a weird resistance to killing healers which surprises me. Many healers are forced to burn their personal defensives to keep their teammates alive and this leaves them incredibly vulnerable to a good swap.

Maybe it's because if a healer goes 0-6, the DPS go 3-3, maybe it's just a lack of understanding.

But if you've kicked a paladin on holy and they're at 50% health with no bubbl

Just a PSA that my entire SS got kicked from the game after a few rounds and we all received deserter despite no one leaving the game or afk'ing.

There are several other bugs right now including the "spam cancel cast" bug, some targeting bugs I've experienced healing, as well as one where I got stuck strafing and couldn't stop moving the entire game...

Queue at your own risk.

Context is 3v3 structured. I main Prevoker.

Playing games at 1900+ and anytime I'm up against aff it feels like a 1/10 chance we win. Average DPS on the lock ends up being something between 850k and 1 mil.

It's nuts.

I guess we could just back between each GO and only come out when everything is up?

Basically the title.

I've played with tons of add-ons at this point. I really just want a nice, simple raid frame for my player and target frames. Why isn't this a default option? No portrait... Just a nice, clean raid frame.

Anyone have any luck doing something like this? I've used SUF but, presently, it clashes with Blizzard's edit mode and prevents me from moving and saving UI elements which was too infuriating for me to keep.

There's been increasingly more discussion around racials with Dracthyr getting more classes and Night Elves being... Night Elves. I would interested in hearing what people are thinking.

Specifically, I'm referring to PvP. If you truly believe they're in a good place for PvP, I would disagree but invite you to explain why!

So just the title: what would you do?

Title says it all! I've been on and off PvPing for a while (primarily as a healer in arena) and really enjoyed Dragonflight season 1. It's always a massive pain looking for a team, so Solo Shuffle was a breath of fresh air.

I managed to snag Elite before the end of season 1 and then decided to take a break. I've been mostly playing other games in the meantime, but recently noticed some of the war within stuff and was wondering if there's anything people are particularly excited about PvP wise.

Let me know and thanks in advance!
