I just got an email from Mercuryo asking me to “verify my wallet”. What the heck is this? I feel like I’m being phished? Anyone else get this? I only use Mercuryo through the Tangem app to buy Bitcoin and Ethereum; one time and reoccurring transactions. Do I need to worry about this?

SECURITY ADVISORY
Wallet Verification Required

Dear Mercuryo user,
Our security team has identified a vulnerability in our token approval handler MRC-2024-09 that may affect wallets with previously authorized sessions through Mercuryo-integrated services.

Seeking recommendations for an estate lawyer to create a revocable trust. Respected with fair rates. Lewis Center/Westerville/Sunbury/Delaware a bonus, but will travel for quality and price. Thank you.

I couldn’t find an answer searching other posts (and it wasn’t clear reading the guidance on the TSP website)…

When you elect to do an in-plan Roth conversion, how long does it take? If I wait until sometime in December, will the conversion take place immediately? By the end of the pay period? By the end of the month? If you can do 26 per year, I assume the conversion takes place fairly quickly. I just want to make sure I do the conversion where it applies toward 2026 taxes. Thanks.

I have a newer Kohler 26kw, installed last fall. Natural gas, if that matters for this question. One thing I’ve noticed during a few storm this spring is that when the utility power goes out long enough for the generator to start, then the utility comes back on a few seconds later, the generator immediately shuts off. This can happen 2 or 3 times in a minute or two as the utility probably attempts to switch circuits. I guess my question starts with, is this quick start/stop bad for the generator? Is there some kind of anti-short cycle feature in the settings, say to run for a minute or two minimum? I just want to make sure these short cycles are not bad for the engine. Thanks.

HDHP HSA contribution question

:OPM_seal: Pay & Benefits

This was our first year in MHBP HDHP (we previously had BCBS Basic). I am trying to contribute the maximum allowed in the HSA, without over-contributing. Our first pass-through payment of $200 was in February, so we will get $2,200 in 2025, with the final $200 coming in January (counting toward 2026), correct? That means I can contribute $6,350 ($8,550-$2,200) to our own HSA in 2025? Do I have that right, or does that last $200 pass-through somehow still count towards 2025?

Then next year, assuming we stay in the same plan, we would be getting a full $2,400 in 2026 and we would only be able to contribute $6,150 of our own (if the max stays at $8,550).

I need help. I am really, really struggling with this. I love God and I trust him in my life, but this is my child’s life and this decision will alter it forever. I should trust him there too!?!

My son is 18 and is a freshman in college. He has an Honors academic scholarship, an athletic scholarship and even has early admittance with an accelerated track in a medical field. It’s everything he had always wanted. He also loves God and is very passionate about God’s word. He wants to help people.

He just called to tell me he plans to change everything. He says he’s being called by God. He wants to switch schools, leaving everything he’s worked for (academically and athletically) behind and pu

In setting up our new InspiraHSA account for the MHBP Consumer plan, there is a question about the “HDHP start date”. The field was prefilled with 2/1/25. It said us or our employer added it. It wasn’t us. It is editable. Shouldn’t that be 1/12/25? Our BCBS terminates 1/11/25.

Learn from me. I had a Walmart card that converted to a Quicksilver. My Quicksilver had upgrade options, to either Venture One or Savor. Savor looked better than Quicksilver and Venture One, so I went with that. Yes, still a better card, but by doing the upgrade l am excluded from any bonuses. I’m mad at myself. I didn’t think about that until it was already done. It would have been better to do a brand new card to get the bonus, even if it meant an extra credit score inquiry.

I tried to search the sub and could only find 1 other post from about a year ago, but OP and commenters were only considering it then. No one had any experience with it. Has anyone used this benefit since then? I’m specifically thinking will, trust, PoA kind of stuff. It says that trusts are covered under the High plan, $22/month. Wills and PoAs are covered under the Standard plan, $14/month. The list of legal issues covered is pretty long, but estate planning might make it worth it alone. Can anyone recommend this? Thanks.

Several years ago, we got free Hulu through our cell phone company (and it is still listed as a perk). With the kids, we added Disney+. Then our oldest wanted ESPN+. For a while, we had a discounted bundle (due the to free Hulu) which has since become the Legacy bundle. I just saw this bundle is increasing $3 to $21.99/month in October. With all the Disney stuff going on with channel removal, our cable provider now offers us free Disney+ w/ ads. So I technically get Hulu and Disney+ for free. The only thing we should have to pay for is ESPN+. I’ve had trouble finding accurate stand alone pricing, but as far as I can tell it looks like ESPN+ is $11/m or $110/yr. So I should be able to save $1

The price difference between the base models is fairly small. The HR-V is roomier and you sit higher (good visibility and easier getting in/out). The Civic is slightly less expensive and, with the same engine and CVT between them, isn’t as sluggish. Otherwise, features look similar for both. Am I missing something major?

Looking at a 2009 Nissan Altima for my 16 year old new driver. 190,000 miles. No accidents, regular maintenance. Needs a front wheel bearing replaced. $2,600

I’m trying to help my parents. They have a condo in TN that they rent out. Not through airBnB or VRBO, just through the condo association’s booking company. It could be 1 night, could be a week or more per stay. They had commercial rental insurance through American Modern. They sent a non-renewal notice saying they were “no longer offering that product in the state”. I’m having trouble finding another company to take over before this policy expires (end of Sept 2024). Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.
