The library I'm in is restructuring, and it's too loud to work, so I'm forced to use headphones. I'm looking for modal jazz that is interesting, but not to the point of distraction. Here's what I've got so far:

  • Herbie Hancock - Maiden Voyage
  • Herbie Hancock - Speak Like A Child
  • Miles Davis - Kind of Blue
  • Pete La Roca - Basra
  • Wayne Shorter - Speak No Evil

What am I missing, please?

They are in Columbus, Ohio. I've been trying to reach them for 3 weeks for vocational and psychological assessments for commissioned pastor trainees. I cannot get them to answer the phone, return phone calls, or answer emails. Does anyone know if they're still there? The website is up and functioning, but that's about it as far as I can tell.

I live in the Buffalo area, yet 3 out of the last 5 packages delivered by USPS have been received by the Buffalo distribution center only to be sent out to Rochester and then either back to Buffalo again, or onward to PA or Ohio before coming back to Buffalo. Has anyone else experienced this lately or know why it's happening so often?

It was amusing at first, but now it's getting frustrating.

This is driving me crazy. I'm obsessed with the bassline and have listened to it several times this morning, but the liner notes and album jacket give no personnel information. I'm relatively certain Morty Corb played bass on the version of the song included on Beyond the Reef (and Other Instrumental Favorites), but I don't think this one is Corb. The line is completely different, but so is the tone, and it just doesn't sound like him to me (I'm happy to be corrected if someone knows different).

"Mood Indigo" from Beyond the Reef (Morty Corb?)
"Mood Indigo" from Earl After Dark (???)

Pre-COVID-19, we were on our way from Buffalo to Rochester and stopped at this little, independent grocery store in a very small town. They had a deli counter that offered subs and pizza, and they made a french fry pizza with a mayo base that we had to try. It blew our minds at how good it was. We've since forgotten where it was, but would love to try it again. Can anyone please help? I don't even know if they survived the pandemic but, being the only store around, I hope they did.

I'm going to be vague with some details to protect both patient and nurse.

A buddy of mine is an RN travel nurse (specialty is geriatrics / LTC) who has taken on an assignment in the Adirondacks as a school nurse. He loves the gig, but has a delicate situation and I don't know enough to help him, having never worked with kids.

He has a preteen girl with ADHD, great kid, sweet and kind, who has been pocketing her ADHD med (not sure what it is). Kid spends most of the school day pacing. Dad comes in and says the nurse must ensure the med is taken, because the kid pockets the med at home, too.

We don't know what we don't know, so the concern is to make sure that both the kid and nurse are p
