Say I'm holding on to stocks that I expect to go up, and they start dropping. Can't I just buy puts to profit and balance out my loss on the % lost on the stocks ?
Example,
1000 Shares of $AMD @28
and its dropping to 30 with PUTS @32
Wouldn't I be profiting while holding onto my own shares ?

GM Strike is expected to end around OCT 25, around the same time after Canadian elections (Oct 21). GM will continue rising after final week of OCT.
Earnings will most likely be impacted due to this bs strike.
