I'm a full stack dev and I've been employed for over 7 years and taken on a number of freelance projects. Every day someone posts about AI taking jobs, fear, and how much more competitive this field is now than it was during the height of the pandemic.
I am here to share my insight as someone that has been getting interviews and just confirmed a shiny new job that pays well, at a time when everyone says it's impossible. I organize events for software engineers and have a good resume, so my position is different than yours, but the trends I'm seeing among the community of 500+ devs that attend my events do apply to you.
When I studied CS in college, I learned lots of great foundationa
I started using pinterest today and thought it was weird that you couldn't navigate from one pin in your board directly to the next pin in your board. I looked up browser extensions that could solve this problem, and nothing existed. So I made something simple for myself and it does the job, but then I thought it wouldn't take much energy to clean it up a bit and post it onto the google extension marketplace (free ofc). Before I spent the time to do that, I wanted to ask if anyone liked the idea or wanted some other feature added. I'm happy having the project just for myself too, that's why I made it in the first place. Also, if there's some other way of viewing pinterest content that I'm un
I love AI art. I love people that hate AI art, and I think this is such an important conversation to have. It has been a silent epidemic, that automation has indirectly caused us to become poorer. Not just AI, but industrialization, high efficiency workflows, tools, machines, every industry has seen a huge boom in productivity. Everyone loves a less expensive product/service, greater accessibility, and more free time, but those benefits of automation are not being given to us.
Some people like to say ai art is just ugly, but so is the work of beginner artists in general, and it's poor behavior to be mean to a beginner artist. Also, while bad ai art exists, so too does good ai art. Some peo
I'm reading the guide from the wiki on how to farm slayer coins:
https://wiki.melvoridle.com/w/Money_Making/Mid-High_Level_Slayer_Coin_Farming
I'm a bit confused. It says to use magic and the poison pods spell to get the slayer synergy of poison damage as slayer coins, but then it recommends the ranged slayer gear, ranged shield of power, and the lethal toxins potion? The potion and that gear don't seem to synergize with the poison pods spell. Is this a mistake or is there some mechanic I'm unfamiliar with?
The gate for my apartment complex is *just* out of reach for my gate clicker, when on my balcony. This causes problems when uber eats, or friends come to visit, and I can not open the gate from my apartment. I'm also considering that if I could attach the clicker to a pi or esp32 I have laying around, it would be easy to trigger remotely to let people in when I'm not home. I've been researching ideas of how I could get the gate to open. The simple mirror behind the clicker is not quite enough. I'm hoping I could attach a directional antenna (?) maybe and boost the signal of my gate clicker. I bought a SDR and used it to capture the signal, and confirm it is a static signal not a rolling co

- History: just got a kitten :)
- Clinical signs: his tongue is off to the side!
- Duration: I noticed yesterday
- Your general location: USA
Why is his tongue off to the side? I haven't noticed it affecting his eating / drinking. He's happy and playful, keeps his tongue in his mouth normally, but when he yawns I can see it's pretty obviously off to one side.

Is it possible to add a custom route, which will return a response, but then do something after returning the response? It seems like after I use c.json it immediately exits the function.
I want to create a route which when hit, queues a task with external API via http, creates a record with details of the queued task, and then returns the id of the record created. After it returns the id, I want it to make another http request to the external service, and update the record with information once it's completed, however it appears there is no way to have the function continue executing code once the c.json is called.
