There was a time when I explored the possibility of neo-paganism and other religions. I read sanitized versions of Greek myths, Roman deities, etc. I have also watched documentaries about religions such as voodoo and such. Every time the stories or documentaries mention terms like “the gods,” I thought “oh theyre gods! They must be kind and loving!” I was farther from the truth. When I was old enough to understand the REAL myths, it seemed like none of them are like God the father as revealed in Jesus Christ. They will curse you or cause your crops to fail just because you didnt entertain them with song or offered them pudding at certain times of the day while the sun is at its zenith.

I have read that in some circles of Buddhism, a person who commits suicide may be reborn in the hells due to the grief that it can cause the family. Some believe that a baby who is stillborn may also be reborn in the hells because of the suffering that it causes to the parents in the form of grief. Of course, this is coming from people’s reading of the Ksitigarbha Sutra. Considering that in the cycle of life and death is suffering, wouldnt parents accrue negative karma due to bringing a child into the world where there is suffering, thus causing grief to the person as they experience the hardships of life?

This is of course, taking the metaphysics and supernatural aspects of Mahayana Buddhi

I understand that the ideal would be to find an instructor, but that is not a viable option for me at the time. I have some books on the subject ranging from beginner friendly to reference material. Other than that, I have looked on YouTube and it seemed to help. I have tried Virginia Lloyd-Davies’, but I think that it may be only for reference as most paintings do not provide a step-by-step process. It’s more like “do this and here’s the finished product. Other than that, I have nothing but respect for her.

I was rolling with someone who is faster and stronger than I am. I knew that he was going for an armbar, so I set up the defense, defended successfully, stacked and passed, and then took mount on him. I didnt have a choice since it was difficult to bridge and roll him over. Lazy or simply taking advantage of what’s available to me?

Anxiety during randori

General Training

I was questioning whether or not to post this, but why not? During randori, I freeze and get anxious because everything is happening all at once and everything I do is immediately countered. I have managed to pull off some throws here and there, but that’s because I took advantage of my partner’s momentum. The anxiety gets to me and I end up being thrown. I get nervous because this is all new to me and I kinda find it scary to be thrown.

Please correct me if I’m wrong, but something tells me that in judo, you dont just pull something immediately against a resisting opponent? You have to be tactical about it and take advantage of any reactions? For instance, an uchimata. It’s different when

Help with “point system”

Tournament/Competition

I went to a competition class today and the coach was trying to help us understand the point system. All I heard was “two points this! three points that!” Is there a BJJ compendium as to what gets points and how many; penalties; advantages, etc.? Can points be deducted?

Other than that, the white belts went CRAZY as hell over this! They were attacking each other like crazy to rack up the most points. I have NEVER been so scared in my life!

I have seen some weird posts online where people are arguing that “Yeshua” or “Yehohushua” or whatever weird variation is more correct than “Jesus” and all sorts of other weird info. Likewise, these same people said that “Jesus” is pagan and incorrect; and then they go on to talk about all sorts of silly anti-Catholic conspiracy theories.

On and who and what is “Yah?” I have never even heard of God the father being referred to “Yah” in Orthodox circles.

So for the first time ever, I finally saw with my own eyes how fresh, know-nothing white belts can be! They move around as if they’re trying to be D1 wrestlers, but obviously fail at it. Holy shit, I’m scared! I feel a lot safer with the black belts! I’m not trying to demean white belts, but the spazz is real! Of course I will still roll with them, but when you spazz, it only makes it easier to control and take advantage of the fear.

Im re-learning everything about RO after a long hiatus. I understand that it’s p2w and I honestly would not mind paying for some features. I am obviously referring to the Loki server, which as I understand, it’s the classic RO, so I assume that it’s the RO that most people played back in 2005-2007. I kinda miss seeing towns such as Prontera, Geffen, Payon, Luo Yang being filled with people, whereas private servers are complete ghost towns.

What do you think? Should I try it out?

This particular question blends into Judaism as well. Im going to get to the point. I was told by someone that Judaism believes in multiple genders, and by default, Christians should also believe in such because Christianity came from Judaism. Is this really a Jewish and Christian belief?
