Anybody here on crew for this festival this year? My daughter was there and wondering why the power went out, so I'm trying to impress her and get an answer.

So, I love this band I'm working for. No amps or monitors. E drums, all in ears. The crowd is loving it. I'm making micro adjustments for each cover tune. The room is dialed. Got my routine down. Mute fx at song end. Tap in tempo for next song. Turn up soloist, and/or cut the accompanist instruments. I'm just sitting here doing what I've done a thousand times.

But breakdown is exciting, busy, demanding, and I can race the clock. How fast can I drive away? I have hard time not being busy, jamming, moving. I love mixing, but I also love being responsible for and taking care of gear. Anybody else love load out?

Today was day 5 of doing exercise videos, and it's day 8 without alcohol. I'm coming up on 4 years without cigarettes. I'm beginning to live my life by a schedule, and I'm being much more consistent. Things I've learned in this sub, and in the GetMotivated sub have helped. The most significant one was the post about no zero days. Also the 1 minute rule (sometimes I see it as the 2 minute rule, but I first saw it as the 1 minute rule). It also helps that I am in a healthy relationship and my partner and I do the exercise videos together. One morning, I was inclined to skip it, and she got us going. The day before, it went the other way. The buddy system works. Thank you to all of you who take

I have QLC+ V4.13.0, and an ENTTEC open DMX USB convertor. I have to start QLC+ before connecting the ENTTEC or QLC+ will not start. Sometimes after starting QLC+, when I plug the USB cable into the ENTTEC, QLC+ closes. When they do connect, if the lights are already plugged into the DMX out on the ENTTEC, QLC+ will not control the lights.

So my start up process has to be, start QLC+, plug USB cable into ENTTEC, wait to see if QLC+ closes, if it does, repeat until it stays open, then plug the DMX cable in. This is annoying and doesn't give me confidence that everything is going to work out on the road.

I tried installing the D2XX direct driver from the FTDI website, but it made no d

It did not. Sound quality was mediocre, heavy bleed from stage, particularly bass and drums. Worked better than the first day, where I had 2 57's inside the top. Did what I could think of with materials and time I had. Needed way more material to isolate the sound board. Next day, I took off the bottom panel and clipped an AT mic (not sure what model, was given to me) pointed at the center of the strings. Put the 609's in the monitor. Sounded great out front, just like an upright piano. Players could hear in the monitor, but only because the bands were quieter last day of the festival. The loud bands used an electric piano the organizers brought at my request. Mix and learn.
