This is the latest in my long attempts to convince the Subterfuge community that there's a better way to play this game than the current meta. Today I want to talk about the pile on.

Most of us have done this to others, I'd bet all we've all had it happen to us, a player gets attacked and, sensing a quick and easy win, everyone else joins in. Very quickly the fight turns into a three or four versus one with the outcome inevitable. These attacks aren't necessarily coordinated, they're not necessarily a sign of an alliance, they're the result of opportunism.

The reason this happens is straightforward, a pile on is a safe and secure way of expanding your territory, you're pretty much guarante

Hi, I'm a landlord for a 2 bed flat. My old boiler is dying and I've just had a quote for a new one. The flat is split level, 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom, ex-council flat, I have two tenants in the flat. The engineer has quoted me for a the 30kw version of the Greenstar 1000 and i'm delighted with the price.

The only issue is that my tenants had a better boiler with a higher flow rate and I don't want them to notice a drop in the amount of hot water/water pressure. Could someone give me a reality check, will the new boiler provide plenty of water pressure/hot water or is the Greenstar 1000 going to give a budget performance?

I've written about non aggression pacts in the past bit a recent incident has provoked another look at the issue. Today I went to explain what NAPs are, the impact they have on the game, why they are used, how they are enforced, and, lastly, how the game should engage with them.

WHAT ARE NAPS?

NAPs are three things:

  1. A statement that two players will not launch drillers at each other.
  2. A promise that, if one of the parties wants to attack the other, a period of notice will be given before an attack is launched.
  3. A social contract that has consequences if it's not adhered to.

Note that none of this is in the game, it is an agreement that is outside the design and scope

This post refers to pre pandemic norms (PPN), this is a baseline I use to evaluate box office performance. it is calculated as the average box office takings from 2017-19 for any given month. It allows me to compare different months (which traditionally see different levels of business) directly.

July Report

Aug total Box Office - $1,267m (161.3% of PPN)

Jul In Month releases - $1,887m (173.1% of PPN and counting)

In the future hindsight may call August 2026 and aberration, the last great kick from an industry slowly suffocation under it's own weight, but today we must evaluate the mon

Hi all, I've been Ozempic for around 7 months now and things are going really well, I'm down around 44lbs with about 30 to go to hit a healthy weight. My thoughts are turning to what will i do when I hit my target weight.

I'm from the UK and I get my pens over the counter for around $250 a month so I'd like to come off it eventually but I'm aware that some people call it a forever drug.

Have you come off Ozempic without putting on weight again? What was your strategy, how difficult did you find it?

I'm looking forward to your answers 😊

This post is a little late as it was confirmed at the weekend but 2026 overtook 2016 on Friday 21st to become the biggest August in North American history. The previous record was $1,019b and, as of the 24th, 2026 is at $1,118b. This record is not just important in of itself but it's the first time an all time monthly record has been broken since the Pandemic.

Obviously this is largely down to Spiderman's $689m in the month so far (already enough to beat August 2025 by itself) but it was ably supported by $183m from the Odyssey, around $100m from the months 'major' releases (Paw patrol, Oak Street and Insidious) and a little over $50m from the family film holdovers (Toy Story, Minions and M

I've had some recent chats regarding Fernando Torres with a fair degree of disrespect being thrown his way. Personally I have always highly rated him and, thanks to something I've just researched, I think he's a genuine candidate to go into PL all time team.

Not to bury the lead the justification for this view is based on one stat, over three seasons, from 2007 till 2010, Torres scored a Non-Penalty goal in the Premier League every 107 minutes he was on the pitch, that ranks him #1 of any PL player ever in that stat (to qualify a player must have scored at least 12 non penalty goals in 3 consecutive seasons) . For comparison Aguero's best 3 seasons was 111 minutes (starting in 2013), Haalan

With Spiderman breaking records and reports of the biggest summer since 2013 this sub, and the wider media, is making bullish predications about 2026 as a whole. Whilst no post pandemic year has broken $9b at the NA box office there is genuine hope that 2026 can breeze past that target and hit the $10b mark but, make no mistake, there is no guarantee that will happen. I'm going to break down what that will take.

Boxofficemojo is reporting that, as of today, the North American box office has brought in $6.84b, that's $456m ahead on 2023, the post pandemic year with the highest total at the same point. 2023 had a great start to the year but tailed off badly with the writer's strike delaying m

In 2022, when Mason Greenwood was 20 years old, photos and video emerged that heavily implied that Greenwood was sexually abusing his girlfriend. He was suspended by Manchester Utd and never played for them again, he was dropped by sponsors. A year later the charges against Greenwood were dropped with the crown prosecution service stating that key witnesses had withdrawn. For the 23/24 season Greenwood was loaned to Getafe before transferring to Marseille in 2024, in 2026 he transferred to Fenerbahce, he has played at a high level across his career but he has not been involved with the England National team since the allegations. He is currently 24 years old.

We've just seen the teaser and next August we're getting a Bluey movie, for some of you that's simply not interesting but for others, especially the parents amongst you, it's kind of a big deal. For the childless who were passed by by the Bluey phenomenon Bluey is a short format animated show aimed at pre-schoolers. It follows the life of Bluey, an anthropomorphic dog, her family and friends, its peers are shows like Paw Patrol and Peppa Pig. What makes it stand out from its peers is that its genuinely quality TV; the plots, characterisations, animation and sound design are all excellent. It's so good that parents obsess about it, it's amazing

r/Ozempic•

Hi all, I've got a technical question.

I've been on Ozempic for 6 months now and one of the things that surprises me is that I seem to lose weight even when I've not eaten well. I've had weeks on holiday for example where I've made no effort to avoid junk food (although I've still eaten less than I used to) and I've still lost weight.

It made me wonder whether my weight loss is purely down to calorie reduction or whether the drug has some other impact (like supercharging my metabolism or something)?

The reason I ask is that I feel i can maintain the calorie reduction I've been doing, or at least enough to not gain weight, without the drug but, if the drug is doing something else, then I'v

How big will August go?

:domestic: Domestic

After just 16 days 2026 holds the post pandemic domestic record for August. The month currently stands just $118m behind the the biggest domestic August of all time and should break that record next Sunday. How much further can it go?
