Good Afternoon Everyone
I was looking for a little bit of help. I published my first book back in May and initially had really good sales. However things slowed down, I changed the blurb and now things have stopped completely. I really don't like what I changed it too so looking for some feedback on the new blurb if possible?
Song of the Silent
Douglas is a nobleman.
He is strong, honourable, compassionate and rather handy with a sword.
Henry is none of those things.
Henry is odd.
He prefers the company of plants, likes to play the violin and has an unfortunate tendency to make perfectly ordinary situations deeply uncomfortable.
Naturally, they become friends.
When warriors, nobl
Good morning talented folk Just as the title suggests. Do you have any strategies to encourage readers to leave reviews once the book is live? I published at the beginning of summer and have sold just short of 400 copies. However I still only have 4 reviews. I am delighted with the sales, well above my expectations, but would really like if more people left reviews. Is this a common problem? What kind of stats would you expect from book reads to reviews?
Thanks guys, just looking for other peoples experiences
Hi guys, just wondering how many of you have gone down this route and what results you had? I self published my first book earlier this year and promised myself if I earned enough money to pay for itself I would commission an audiobook.
I am happy to say sales have exceeded my expectations so now it is time to treat myself, I am very excited at the prospect of seeing it come to life. I am intending on using acx and the process seems straight forward.
Has anyone else gone through this process? What was your experience? Did it make a difference to sales?
Thanks everyone
Hello there talented narrators. I am very new to acx. I uploaded an audition piece and have had a good few responses already. Some I really like, and some less so. I want to take my time deciding and hear some more as well (I only uploaded a few hours ago) but wanted to check what the etiquette is for the process.
I appreciate that someone has taken the time to read the script and send it in. If I have definitely decided against an audition, politeness would suggest I would send a message thanking them for their time but no thanks. However the dashboard does not seem to suggest that is what the messaging is for?
As a narrator what is normal?
Many thanks indeed
On the (I think 4th) circumnavigation of this wonderful series and on blue at the missen. I was struck by Maturins proposal to Christine wood. He outlines his financial situation, his health, all his good points and I felt it was exactly what he has criticized Martin for in his own proposal earlier in the series.
It's such a wonderful example of do what I say, not as I do and once again POB's mastery of the understated juxtaposition.
What is your favourite scene that you only picked up on, on a later read?
Hello everyone, I published my first novel last week but have had feedback that the blurb is a little off. would appreciate it if you could have a look at my revised blurb and let me know if it draws you in. Many thanks indeed
A Tale of Friendship and Conflict
Song of the Silent
Douglas of Faurmoor, a noble of the Northern aristocracy, possesses strength tempered by compassion. His world changes forever when he encounters Henry, a peculiar outsider who struggles to connect with others yet finds solace in the harmonies of music and the quiet beauty of plants. Amid their differences, a fragile and unexpected bond takes root.
Summoned by the neighbouring Emperor to a grand tournament
Hello lovely writers. I published my first book last month, after only 4 years, can't tell you how proud I am to have it out there. However, someone in this community kindly pointed out that my blurb was somewhat lacking, having mulled it over and asked others, they are of course correct. I have subsequently been working on making it better and would really appreciate any feedback. Many thanks indeed

Hi Guys. Just a quick question regarding Book sirens. I submitted my book yesterday, a month after publication. I received an email today to say it was under consideration but when I checked the control panel it came up rejected. I understand they can't provide individual feedback but I am perplexed as to why it's been rejected so quickly.
It has been professionally edited and the cover etc was done by an graphic designer (so no AI). Has the fact I waited more than 30 days to add it caused me a problem? Just wondering what I have done wrong or if anyone has success in this field?
Many thanks indeed
Just wondering if anyone that self publishes does this or is it only for traditionally published authors?
Many thanks
Good Morning Everyone
Was just looking for some general input. I have just released my first book. Sales were strong in the first two weeks but have tailed off. I see lots of people offer promotions but would you do that straight away on launch? I only have one book (look 4 years to write!) and I see lots of advice saying you should offer your first book on discount/promotion to encourage readers to read your other books but as I do not have other books is it worth it?
Many thanks indeed
I have had a second crack at my cosy fantasy blurb, so thank you very much indeed for the initial feedback. I always want to say more but I suppose that is the whole point in a blurb! Anyway thank you very much indeed for taking the time to have a look, any feedback welcome.
