I loves me a Pathfinder, specifically in Aura plastic. When I first started throwing one about 15 months ago I loved it for everything up to about 200 feet, but much farther than that and I'd disc up. Now I'm frequently getting it out to 240-250 pretty regularly with like 85-90% power, and I'm really happy about that because I'm more accurate with it than I am with pretty much any fairway that I've ever had.

So can anyone recommend something that has a really similar flight path? Just a tiny amount of turn, but a reliable, and mellow, fade. I'm thinking probably a 6 or 7 speed, but I'm willing to entertain an 8 or even 9 as long as you legit feel like the flight is very similar.

TIA!

Sorry if this has been asked and answered, but what softsynths are out there that have good / powerful / unique arpeggiators? Arps with up, down, up+down, random, octave selection etc are a dime a dozen, so I'm not interested in ones that just have the basics.

My fave is Hive, just as an example.

So what else is out there? And why is it good / powerful / unique?

I'm primarily a RHBH thrower and always have been. Over the years I've been able to use a RHFH very sparingly, just in situations where I really needed to get around a tree, or when I was stuck behind a tree and throwing out to the right was the only feasible option. Basically just in desperate circumstances. It was always ugly AF, but like 60-70% of the time it did a better job than whatever I would have tried RHBH. It was always just sloppy, short and unpredictable.

About a month ago after watching some YT tutorials I realized that the grip I was using was totally wack, so I changed it and started practicing it maybe an average of 40-80 throws a week and it has improved dramatically. Aver

Back in the day (mid 90s into the mid 2000s) this (#2 Hyzer by Lightning) was my absolute favorite midrange approach disc. If you got it anywhere near the hole it would hit the dirt at a great angle to give it a nice circle roll. I also loved it for tomahawks / hammers.

It is definitely out of production and I'm not seeing it anywhere on ebay, Craigslist etc.

Does anyone know how to get one? Or a #1 Hyzer. Or, more realistically, can anyone recommend a disc that is really similar that is currently in production? I can't even find any sources for flight numbers, but I'm sure it's a 0 Turn. I have some good approach discs, but I have fond memories of this one and I want to see if it's as goo

I just got "matches" with three different women who I know I didn't swipe right on because 1) they're not my type and 2) they're in an area of a neighboring state that I was perusing in Travel Mode with my filter set to "Something Casual" and after matching with them, they all have "Relationship" as their dating goals. So there is no way I would have even seen them!

What gives? Has anyone else noticed this? Did this change, because this is the first time I'm noticing this.

Has anyone else noticed this? I'll get a like from a woman, but minutes or even hour later.

I'll go into Travel Mode to a different city, swipe around for a bit, and then leave.

Sometimes five minutes or even multiple hours later I will see a like from a woman who lives in that city / area.

I created a bunch of Impact Kits (121 to be exact) in Impact in S1 v 2.6

Is there any way I can use these in the most current version of Studio One in Impact XT? Are Impact kits even compatible with Impact XT? I tried to import one of them into XT and it says "One preset file was imported. But it's not a preset for Impact!"

If the answer to that is yes, is there any way I can import these old kits without having to remap everything pad by pad? I moved all of my old Impact kits to my new computer, and I moved all of my old Impact .preset files into the same folder that contains all the current ones that are working in Impact XT. Also, the file path for where the samples are stored is going

I use the "transform to rendered audio" option (https://www.pro-tools-expert.com/studio-one//transform-to-rendered-audio-track-freeze-in-presonus-studio-one) in S1 quite a bit because I use a lot of instruments (softsynths, particularly u-he synths, and some Kontakt libraries) that really eat up my processing power. I’m still on S1 v2 and the behavior of using this option kind of annoys me. I want to make sure that I’M not doing something wrong here.

So if I only transform once, everything is cool, works just fine (and I never render the inserts). It’s when I have to

I know every song is different, but if you have anything like a “standard” approach to reverb, what is it? Do you have song templates set up with pre-routed reverb buses and whatnot? Does your drum reverb get routed to a drum bus first, or straight to your 2 bus / master bus? Does anyone route all reverbs from all sources together? Do you have one bus for close, one for far? All sends, or a mix of inserts and sends? Do all of your harmony / melody instruments get sent to the same reverb, or every one has its own?

I’m wanting to try new approaches, but also want to get more systematic with how I approach things (again, with the caveat that every song is different). So I guess I want to hea

I've been using Sonalksis Stereo Tools ( http://www.sonalksis.com/stereotools.html ) for a while now to center the low end on tracks, buses and full mixes. It has "a 'zero width below' parameter which narrows low frequency stereo content below a definable bandwidth."

But I'm wondering if there is a better way to do this with an EQ. I own FabFilter Pro-Q2 and love it. Is it possible to achieve this same effect with this plugin? I know it has both M/S and mono EQing capabilities, but I'm not really sure the best way to go about this.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

I don't listen to a ton of straight up EDM, dubstep etc. but I do listen to a lot of modern artists who use a lot of synthesizers. I've noticed that there seems to be an unwillingness with most of them to mention / admit that they use softsynths, although we know obviously a lot of them do. They'll tell you all about their vintage synths and homemade modular, but not so much their favorite VST.

One exception I know of is that Yeasayer was pretty vocal about using Omnisphere: "“There was this interesting sound design synthesizer we used – a soft synthesizer that’s used for doing movie scores called an Omnisphere”" - https://www.relix.com/articles/detail/yeasayer-apocalyptic-happiness

Can anyone recommend a good (hopefully cheap-ish) tablet that has a lot of educational content pre-loaded on it and does not require wi-fi to be useful? I have a 4 year old daughter, and I want to get something for her to play educational games, tutorials, math drills, language games etc. But I do not have wi-fi at home. So ideally something that either has a lot of content pre-loaded, or something that I could connect to wi-fi at some other location and then download games etc that can be played / used while offline. I’m completely new to this, so any info or advice is welcomed.

Thanks.

Please help me analyze this song. I took a whack at it, but I'm not super confident that my analysis is spot on.

So it seems like the song is basically in E Harmonic Minor with some exceptions. Instead of a 7th degree of D# diminished (D#-F#-A), they flat the seventh and use a D Major (D-F#-A) instead. Also, instead of an augmented chord on G for the third scale degree (which WOULD be III+ = G-B-D#), they alternately either sharp the third and have an augmented chord on G#, so III+ = G#-C-E, or they actually just use a major III (G-B-D - the seventh is already sometimes fl

Is using borrowed chords more or less synonymous with mode mixing? Wikipedia says “A borrowed chord (also called mode mixture and[1] modal interchange) is a chord borrowed from the parallel key (minor or major scale with the same tonic).” So if you’re in C major, and you use D major, which exists in C minor, that’s a borrowed chord AND mode mixing, right? What about if you “borrow” a chord from some scale other than C minor? What is that called? More importantly, is this a fundamentally different thing? Or is it essentially the same thing, but just goes by a different name?

Let me give a specific example. The song “The Changing Lights” by Broken Bells has a chord progression that goes: Em-D
