If you play campaign the only path is oil only however in utopia mode it really depends on the map.

In the campaign, you can take short term moves that finish resources quickly because the game ends after the 5th campaign. in utopia however surviving the longest is key, however utopia lets you research both settlements and underground resources. In the campaign getting oil is a key part of the campaign so choosing adaptive is basically like going extra hard needing skyways too just to get enough oil and enough population to even have enough workforce.

The generator upgrade only affects the main city generator, all your sub cities use adaptive instead so the choice really is based on wha

I have a rb5009 that has been rebooting for 3 months. In the log initially was only shutdown, after i unplugged power to usb drive i got kernel failures instead. It reboots itself constantly for a few minutes every few hours.

Ive tried a bench psu, not dice so power isnt the issue. Ive tried different firmwares, same problem even verifying installation each time. Ive tried mikrotik support and sent the supout of different firmwares, its been more than a week, nothing.

Mikrotiks are usually resilient devices but their new arm line is making me rethink. I really like the power efficiency of the non ccr line ad the rb5009 gives a lot for under 10w including using the usb port fot a hub, gp

how to bypass DNS filter

Science/ Technology

I had to redo this as reddit filters marked it as spam and auto removed it from too many tutorial links that i added in the edit

I am not really happy about the block but this is how ISPs do it.

NAT all port 53 requests of TCP and UDP to ISP servers

block traffic to certain domains

Basically you can still ping the DNS like cloudflare, but when you try to do https over dns or DoH or anything fancy, it wont work as it uses a domain so even though the domain for cloudflare's secure DNS points to the correct ip that you can ping, the protocols and requests (including https) will be dropped. If you send a DNS request it will be redirected to ISP own server which comply with major and some opt

This is the cheap option to filter otherwise to fully block DoH and https would have to do L7 packet ins

I bought the new AMD Acer nitro A16 variant with the new ryzen 8 CPU recently and am very disappointed with the local options available and pricing (amazon US was cheaper with the 4060). Although my main reason to purchase was for the CPU and NPU but the GPU is just a bonus. However i still would appreciate a double vram 4050 more than a 4060.

This shouldnt be called a gaming laptop, it has the specs to be a good work laptop for developers especially those who want to use AI. DDR5 has cheaper higher capacity ram (64GB is an economical target) though some laptops do have 4 ram slots. There seems to be space in the chassis for a sata drive as well or bigger battery.

my work place wanted to get everyone certified but did an absolutely terrible job managing and planning everything including the time. I managed to get solutions architect professional done within less than 1 month without much exposure to aws though i still got fired for not finishing 3 other certifications on time as decided (GCP CAP, 2x red hat, CKAD (date decided long ago)) and being blamed for the blunders of others as i came in at the worst time.

Heres how i passed it quickly, there are 3 important things you need to have prior to studying or considering the exam.

  1. you need to know various different 3rd party softwares and solutions on the surface. You need to know the basic analog

After moving out from an indian area with an indian company as a landlord, 3 months later with absolutely no contact and nothing about my deposit their lawyers send a letter asking for unpaid rent (a weird amount) threatening legal action if unpaid within 7 days.

While i can prove without doubt i paid off all utilities and rent, there was absolutely nothing from the landlord till a legal letter suddenly arrived. They used a courier where you have to accept/deny the letter. Their lawyer claims they have repeatedly contacted me and asked me to pay which has never happened. The letter does not even come with details about the said payment they ask as they just said rent rather than the exact r

I got a new phone and number as the old one has a battery bulging. Initially when i setup whatsapp on the new phone i opted to transfer the data from the old phone and whatsapp using whatsapp's built in transfer feature, however before the transfer could be finished (when it was at 100%) whatsapp gave some sort of error (just said error), then i lost all my chat history. Before i transferred i had to change my number as the simcard had expired which i did before i did the transfer.

I then tried many other ways from google drive to local backups and none of them worked. Is there any way to access my backups given they were saved from another number? i didnt know beforehand that changing numb

Hi i've checked around and did find a way to swap through the network on a ramdisk from another machine. I want to run a large AI model that uses mmap and i find it only caches in ram rather than load everything. I dont have any single machine with more ram than the model size and checking resource usage, a slower machine on aws can run it fast with enough ram. Instead im thinking of using ram drives by combining various machines but only have the processing done on the machine with avx_vnni.

I have a lot of ram sticks but no machines that can accept enough sticks. Is it possible to swap over 2 nfs? I run everything on virtual machines using proxmox. How does linux treat a singular large f

Hi when running the AI models i notice that the amount of ram used is a lot lot less than claimed, however the performance greatly differs based on the amount of ram the machine has. My machines have limited number of ram slots but based on the behaviour of running the models, are the models cached into ram instead? for instance if i run llama 70B i have to rent an expensive aws ec2 instead but the responses greatly differ. If i use 13B it does not answer the question and i get the question back but it does with 70B. I still would like to be able to run 70B and i am using a similar chip architecture with avx_vnni. If there isnt enough ram would it be possible to create a ram drive split acr

Hi after having tried llama i was impressed with its more technical like response, although chatGPT 4 is capable of so many things im looking to host my own LLMs in a more task specific way, however the hardware i want to host them on have NPUs and i would have to use their library, develop for and convert the models.

I would like to know what the best models are for language translations and code generation/analysis and whether or not they fit on 16GB of ram. The NPUs state compatibility with various data types even bfloat16. I've always had issues trying to run llama using its raw models using python while llama.cpp has always worked but i am stuck with its converted models.
