Hi everyone,

I'm currently sewing a self-drafted dress and have got to the stage where I insert the lining and have found myself for some reason completely unable to visualise how I do it. I've sewed a long dress (with sleeves) and a corresponding lining (basically the same pattern pieces without the sleeves). I have just inserted my invisible zip in the outer fabric. What are the next steps to attach the lining? Does anyone have any video recommendations to watch? Have a made a mistake inserting the sleeves at this point and should I remove them until after I do the bodice lining?

I'n quite an experienced sewist but clearly useless without a pattern!

I'd also appreciate suggestions on th

Hi all,

I'm sewing my own wedding dress and after making a toile I've realised that even with a lining the dress might end up a little bit too see-though for my taste. Does anyone have any recommendations for how to remedy this? I'm thinking of underlining the bodice with a different fabric, but I'm not sure what kind or what colour to go for. The outer fabric is viscose crepe.

Any advice is appreciated! Thank you.

Hi all, this might be a stupid question, but I'm a beginner with video editing and Davinci (sorry!) working my way through the tutorials, and I'm making a video that I need some help with. It's a language learning video consists of people saying simple phrases, and I would like some sort of animated box to pop up with the phrase in the original language plus translation. I haven't been able to find tutorials or templates similar to what I want (I might not be looking in the right places) so I was wondering if anyone here had any tips or links or suggestions? Thank you all very much.

About my laptop (not the best for editing): Apple M4, 16GB,

Female, 32, 5'2. Existing diagnoses: multiple sclerosis. Medications: contraceptive pill, ocrelizumab.

Three years ago I developed IT band syndrome after a heavy marathon training block. I have pain on my lateral left knee, and also occasionally in the hip hip/glute area. I have seen many physios, had sports massage, dry needling and nothing seems to be working. Every time I start up running again it comes back. I've just done six months of 3x weekly gym training to strengthen my legs and a return-to-run plan, but the pain appeared when I tried 3x8 mins of running and it's still not right two weeks later. It feels to me like something tightens up in my hip/IT band and then if I run in that

Hi all! My partner and I would like to go on our honeymoon to BC this summer, flying to Vancouver at the end of August/early September. We would like to avoid hiring a car unless it's an absolute necessity.

Generally on vacation we like to experience a mix of relaxation, hiking (or maybe other adjacent outdoor activities like cycling, climbing, horseback riding, trail running, swimming) and classic city sightseeing, bars, restaurants etc.

I can't tell what a sensible split between Vancouver, Vancouver Island and Whistler would be (also accounting for jetlag/not creating too stressful and itinerary) or whether there are other places we should visit either for day trips or a few nights.

I'd

I'm planning to sew my own wedding dress and have an image in my head of what I want but I don't feel that I've found the right pattern to base it off. I'm thinking something along the lines of this vibe but simpler. I prefer to use a pattern rather than draft from scratch myself.

My frontrunners at the moment are the Vikisews Violet or the Sew Love Patterns Springe dress. Although it is for a wedding dress, I'm taking a very low-stress approach and would prefer a more everyday pattern to something complicated full of lace and beads.

Any other suggestions or general advice would be very

I'm trying to plan a vacation this summer with my partner, but I'm having trouble nailing down a perfect destination for us. Has anyone been somewhere they think might fit the bill? Ideally I'd like somewhere in Europe where there are a variety of outdoor activities accessible from the same place, and ideally possible to do without a car, which I know is a big ask when obviously these places will be further from urban centres.

We previously went to Durmitor in Montenegro and found that that was perfect for what we wanted. Slovenia was good too. I've been trying to research (for example) the Dolomites, but it's hard to know whether that would be a good idea without a car. Does anyone have

I just painted my bedroom Dulux Tranquil Dawn. It's a nice cool, green-blue. The problem is that I was expecting it to be more green, or warmer somehow. So, I had envisaged the other things in my room (bedspread, artwork etc) involving lots of greens and then maybe an earthy orange colour to contrast. With how cool toned Tranquil Dawn is (and the fact it basically looks blue in many lights), I don't think this will work, but I'm a bit stuck for what to do now. Cooler greens overlapping? Lots of white? Pink? I'd be really appreciative of any suggestions.

Hi there, I just had a question I wonder if someone could help me with.

I recently came across The Guardian newspaper's style guide checker, and thought something similar could be really useful to me in my work. The code for the project is open source on Github, so in theory it should be doable. However, apparently most of it is in Scala, and my programming experience is already very limited to basically only some beginner Python.

How doable would it be to use The Guardian's code as a base to create something similar myself, given

Mandatory details: 5ft5, 120lbs, white, don't smoke, moderate drinking, no recreational drugs, diagnosed with MS.

A few years ago I had an EKG and ECG following some vertigo, and understood that the cardiologist said everything was fine. Now, four years later, I'm training for a marathon and I've noticed what I think are heart palpitations at rest and looked back at my notes. In hindsight it's not clear that everything found was benign. Some of what I've found when Googling (as usual, I guess!) has implied the NSICD is worrying. Should I be concerned about these findings, particularly in regard to endurance sports and exercise? This is what the cardiologist said at the time:

I hope it's okay to post this kind of question here.

I would like to make a tool/website that can essentially search through a chunk of text for predetermined style errors and alert the user to them, kind of like a spellcheck. So, a database would have rules (like 'logbook' rather than 'log-book' or whatever) and these could be pointed out to the user. This would be for personal use, not anything commercial.

The Guardian newspaper have something very similar to what I'd like, with open source code for the server-side element and the client int

I'm late 20s, female, 5 ft 2, 49kg, white. Diagnosed with MS and treated with ocrelizumab. Also contraceptive pill.

In my most recent blood work, I noticed that my 'XE Nucleated RBCs abs' was 0.01 x10^9/L when it has been 0 in all prior blood tests. I also noticed that my platelets were 379 x10^9/L, so right at the top of the normal range. Last tests (every six months, in order of most recent) they were 350, 335, 344, 304. I looked at some older notes from 2018 and 2019 pre-MS diagnosis and they were (in order of most recent), 268, 321, 285, 274.

I know that these results are technically in normal range, and maybe I shouldn't be going questioning them myself, but I had a lot of trouble g
