Wanted to post this to help others have a smooth experience

Location: South Texas

Date: Feb 21,2026

Details:

Dealer listed at $51,000 on the website, fine but I figured I could do better.

Quick test drive and I asked for out the door pricing, dealer came back with $3k of add ons.

Countered with $2k off or $500 above invoice, whichever was more of a win win for both.

Dealer came back, showed me the invoice $(48,000).

Paid $48,5000.

Did a trade with the dealer that helped as well.

Do your research, come in when you are ready to buy, and you can get this car for very close to invoice.

Note that I had an offer from CarMax on my trade ready to go, and pre approved financi

Just wanted to say a quick thanks to all on this sub as I bought a new Kia telluride today, and before going in, I searched the sub for the best way to present a win win to the dealership.

Read the wiki, and a bunch of posts (rare I know) and was able to have a smooth transaction of purchase and trade.

For those who are looking to buy a new car, read the wiki, it works.
