All in all this isn't a big deal... And I really hesitate to even put journalism in the same heading as MaxPreps, FYI.

But my daughter's HS team is listed in an incorrect conference in MaxPreps. This is their first year in a new conference.

And there's literally no way to submit a correction "ticket" or complaint through MaxPreps.

Chances that there's anyone aboard who somehow works for a news outlet that may have some kind of contact information with MaxPreps?

I highly doubt that anyone does - but not having my kid's team in the correct conference is kind of hurting their stats/rankings. And since they're thinking that they want to play at the next level - I don't want them short-c

Centurion barrels - overgassed?

Product Question 🧰

I've got a bad jonseing for a 12.5" Centurion barrel to complete what'll be an almost 100% Centurion SBR.

BUT - they're not in stock on their site nor are they in stock at my two local dealers who stock/sell Centurion wares. Anyhow...

Anyone have experience with 'em?

I DO plan on suppressing it with an older traditional welded baffle can. (Sig SRD556QD).

So IF the gas port on these are "larger" for reliability... And IF my suppressor is considered "high back pressure" (which I presume it is based on age and design)... Maybe I really don't want a Centurion barrel for this build?

Ok y'all. I have a PTR-9KT with this folding stock.

https://www.strikeindustries.com/si-fsa-sp-stock.html

I can mount an MLOK QD socket on the front rail no problem.

What sort of dohicky do I need for the rear?

NO QD option available. There is no hook loop on the rear of the firearm. I'd rather not have to buy another stock because this one does pretty OK.

Level of difficulty - I'd rather not have a dedicated sling for this firearm if I can help it. All in all, though, it wouldn't be that expensive to do just that.

There is no room on the end cap pic rail to add a socket below the stock mount.

Reason: I've got it in my head that I really need a 12.5" mid-length 5.56 barrel.

I've read over the years that this particular setup can cause issues and that things have to be tuned just right in order to get running well - and that this setup generally has to be tuned for suppressed or unsuppressed - but hard to do both.

So - Are there white papers out there on the above? I really want to have a greater understanding of these relationships beyond just the more casual understanding that I have now.

Just a 2 position (ugly) lower... Is the RB FRT truly just a drop-in?

Whatever politics have occurred and notwithstanding whatever boners people have for or against them - casual research over the last few weeks leads me to believe that they're the 1000lb gorilla in the MP5 / clone FRT market.

BUT - there are a few other companies that manufacture whole lowers that come with their FRTs installed for about the same money as just an RB item.

Struggling with what the best route to go is

Just curious... and sorry for no pics.

I do think I'll buy a 3-lug HUB adapter. There doesn't seem to be concentricity in the threads on my PTR-9KT. The 9mm alignment rod that I have is really close to one edge on 2 different 9mm suppressors.

I'm HOPING that the 3-lug will be more concentric.

In other news - I bought the thing on a Sunday afternoon. SBR paperwork was submitted even later that afternoon. I got notice around 1030am yesterday that it was approved. Hooray.

Or is this too subjective?

PTR? MKE? Zenith?

I just don't have SP5 monies; though I wish I did.

I'm not even sure which configuration that I'd like - K sized or a little larger. It WILL be used as a suppressor host; but I do NOT need 3-lug. I don't need to tuck a can; but I DO like how that looks.

I would like an accessory rail on the top of the receiver for an optic, but that isn't 100% a necessity at the time of purchase. But would save me an extra transaction...

Honestly, I'm leaning towards PTR - but I've read plenty of threads on plenty of subs / other boards about MKE being pretty damned good too.

Long story short, I've kind of inherited an OLD Cookshack model 009.

Question for residential Cookshack users: What, if any, blue tooth temperature probes are you using? I gather this brand is rather well insulated - maybe to the point of blue tooth probes not working well?

And if a blue tooth temp probe won't work too well - I could run a wired probe in through the vent / chimney. What kind of wired probe are y'all using to blue tooth to your phone?

Thanks ever so kindly in advance!

I'm not sure what I was thinking...

And I can't tell you ammo will work in your gun; but I CAN tell you that this particular box of Remington Golden Bullet + my TX-22 = an effort in frustration.

Failures to feed galore.

Apparently this pistol has quite a tight chamber. Several non-feeding cartridges were getting caught up on the knurled section of the bullet heel. I couldn't even drop them in by hand.

My Ruger Mk II 22/25 with the PacLite upper, however, ate it all like a champ.

I know better than to use trash ammo. Especially in a brand spanking new .22 firearm. But it's all that I took with me out of expediency.

Some of that ammo wouldn't even drop in to the chamber when I had
