34m, heavy daily use for the last 15 years tried quitting several times before, made it as long as a month. Before I have always had night symptoms like really bad night sweats, bizarre dreams, restlessness, etc. within the first 48 hours or so of stopping using. I have also been a pretty heavy drinker for most of that time which has its own issues, one of which was gaining quite a bit of weight. I’m on day 5 now and this time I stopped everything cold turkey and I didn’t have any appetite and basically only drank water for 4 days. I didn’t have really any physical symptoms of withdrawal, just cravings. Last night I was able to eat a small dinner and a desert. And bam! — Nightsweats, bad dre

With a couple hundred watts of solar panels ($200), a modest sized power bank/solar “generator”($250), and a cheap table top ice machine ($60-100). This assumes of course that it will be sunny, but given we are talking about extreme heat that’s a reasonable assumption. You could also run it off a car inverter or a generator, if you have fuel. You could make ice during the day and store it in a cooler for nights. Bagged ice in armpits/groin, ice baths, etc.
Also cold drinks!

I have some tinned marine grade wire I plan to use for an HF antenna, since most RF is transmitted on the skin of the wire, is there significant loss if the copper is coated with a less conductive metal?
I’m curious, roughly what percentage of your income do you invest in preps?
Also, what do you think is reasonable? If 50% of your income was disposable would you spend it all on preps? Or use some to invest in a retirement plan, leisure, etc.
The 1kw solar setup for our off grid house in Maine. Hopefully adding another 3kw next year.
reddit.com/gallery/rcw7h8I don’t always do it. It depends on the variety and my mood but quite often I ignore steeping times and just leave it in like a savage. I don’t mind that it gets strong toward the end. I think of it as a spectrum, your first few sips are a little week, but the floral notes come through, then you get to the proper steeping times with a nice, well-rounded flavor, then finish up with a very strong/tanniny note.
What do you all think?
