Everything needs an internet connection. Roll20 is great when I can get it to work, but my internet is spotty and can fail in the middle of a dungeon crawl. Foundry can be run locally, but it’s very complicated.

I just want to be able to have a map, maybe add a grid, and do Fog of War, projected on my cheap TV/Game table, running from my laptop.

Is there anything out there that can do this?

So, Dyson Maps are beautiful, no question there. What I'm having trouble with is... how exactly do people use them?

Like, if we assume the squares are the standard 5 feet, none of the rooms are really big enough to have a combat in, not with a party of more than a player or two (at least, I don't think I could use them like that). Do you just have a single token representing the party, moving through the dungeon? Do you create a separate map for any fights? Are they just for exploration and you just do battles in Theatre of the Mind?

I love these maps that Dyson makes, and I want to use them, I just really can't figure out what that looks like.

I'm sure you've seen the videos where there's basically a slideshow of D&D images with a voiceover. I think Jorphdan is doing a series on Greyhawk right now that's pretty much this. There's probably a million comic book channels that do the same.

Why aren't they getting copyright strikes? Does WotC not care? Does it fall under Fair Use since they're "educational" or opinion pieces?

How would you describe Abe from the comics? I'm doing a re-read, and I'm having trouble coming up with a voice for Abe.

One thing the del Toro movies did really well was give Abe a pretty distinct personality really quickly: he's voiced by Niles from Frasier, and they sort of wrapped in Kate's bookishness and Johann's psychic-senses. So he's sensitive, he likes classical music and books and poetry. I feel like Movie-Abe is only a BPRD agent because he's friends with Hellboy, and what the heck else is a fishman gonna do? He'd probably be happier just running a bookstore.

Comics Abe... I don't know. I just kind of realized that I don't understand him yet, not like I understand Hellboy (becau

Lots of... outdoor things going on in the US right now, I figured maybe I'd show up with a game. This is probably stupid and impossible, but it's a fun mental exercise.

It will probably be something rules-lite (I've been eyeballing Shadowdark, but I'm open to suggestions; maybe Tiny Dungeon 2e?), but when it comes to WHAT to run, I don't know how to prep several days worth of game and keep that in my head.

What game would you bring? How would you generate content?

Howdy.

I'd like to level up my map making with things that the PCs can interact with (chandeliers to swing from, pillars to push over, braziers with fire that people can get knocked into) and I was wondering if anyone is aware of a product with lists of ideas for inspiration, and maybe mechanics that can be dropped into your game. Kind of like those books of traps, but for terrain.

Thanks!

I know the guy who makes it is on this sub, but I was wondering if there are any reviews for it anywhere? Or anyone reading this who can give me their thoughts? My google-fu is apparently not strong enough to find any in-depth reviews.

They’re doing a backerkit for the Year 3 collection that ends in a week, which is how I heard about it, and the fact that it’s been going for 3 years must mean SOMETHING positive, but I was just hoping for something a bit more concrete, I guess.

Thanks in advance!
