Almost got creamed today on the cycle track by a person speeding through a green and a person turning right on red in front of them, causing the speeding driver to honk, not hit their brakes, and swerve completely into the “protected cycle track” I had to jump off my bike and hide behind a tree while they passed. I recently biked down Park Street and noticed what appears to be preliminary striping that would return the corridor to a traditional two-travel-lane configuration without dedicated bike infrastructure.
Before the final striping is completed, I’d like to encourage a public discussion involving city staff, the mayor’s office, Ward 1 leadership, local businesses, residents, and anyone who regularly uses Park Street.
One thing that stands out to me is that Park Street simply doesn’t seem to carry the level of traffic that would justify dedicating so much public space to moving and storing cars. Much of the corridor is currently devoted to two travel lanes plus parking on both sides of the str
I was on my bike but never saw so much traffic on state, church, and chapel at once🤔
I installed some Sugino RD2 Crank arms on a IRD QB-55 68x103mm (JIS Taper) on my surly steamroller and when I try to torque the drive-side crankarm (35 nm / 26 ft-lb) there is a point where the cranks stop spinning freely. I'm not sure if the crank arm is bottoming out on the spindle, but when I installed the drive-side my cranks just wouldnt spin freely. When I pulled off the crankarm everything was fine and there was no visible damage to the crankarm. What could be the problem here? The cranks and bb should be compatible (both jis taper) and the rd2 arms call for a 103mm bottom bracket. Thanks for your input!
