EDIT: I have managed to get the system stable for the last 6 hours. I tried a variety of steps at once and one of them seems to have done the trick. I'll record what I did for anyone in the future.

  • I went into the BIOS and disabled the power down mode in the memory. It was on auto originally. I also turned off AMD cool and quiet.

  • I went to settings -> power options -> advanced settings, -> processor power management and set minimum processor state from 5% to 10%.

  • I went into computer settings and set it so that it doesn't sleep and the screen will turn off after 5 hours

  • I added some external speakers instead of relying on speakers built into the monitor.

My RB215LASH Samsung refrigerator has been failing to keep the freezer cold enough. I found that the evaporator had completely iced up. After letting it thaw some, I checked the thermal fuse, the defrost heater, and the thermistor. The Thermistor and thermal fuse both tested good, but when I checked the defrost heater, it was an open circuit. I also forced the freezer into defrost mode and checked the connector to the heater and confirmed that 120VAC was being supplied to the heater, but there was no warmth. To me, this means that the heater has failed and needs to be replaced.

Unfortunately, the heater and evaporator are one assembly. The part number for the heater/evaporator is a DA97-001
