In the 10th month, there was a feast in Brandybottom.

This was not an all too remarkable event. There were often feasts and fairs held in the small town beneath the seat of House Webber, but usually they were simple things, put on by the people who lived in Webber lands, coming together with what little they had to celebrate for any reason they could manage.

This feast however, was sponsored. Jessamyn Webber, at the insistence of her friend, the Black Rose, had decided to share the bounty of house Webber with her father's smallfolk. It would be the first step in reminding them that there was still a trueborn child of Elyas Webber watching over them.

And so the people of Brandybottom

Bearing her first child had been a fraught experience for Enide Willum. For many moons, she endured pain and exhaustion unlike anything she’d ever experienced. The last few moons she had been fearful too. Having taken ill, she grew weaker and weaker as her body dealt with the dual burdens. She spent many sleepless nights, kept awake by the pain and discomfort, fearing that she or her child may not survive. It was for that very reason she had come to Highgarden, desperate for the security provided, knowing she had access to far greater medicines here than at home in Wyrmsgrave.

Some of that anxiety had faded as the day approached, the illness that had afflicte

His hand had been raised to the door for minutes, it felt like. Surely, she had heard his approach. Surely, she had looked up toward the door in anticipation of who might call on her and seen his shadow in the crack beneath, a dark spot on the keep’s white stones. Perhaps she could have stood from wherever in the chamber it was she rested, recovering from the journey home from Arrowfall. Maybe she could have been the one to start this conversation.

Axell rapped softly on the door.

A moment, then the sounds of her shuffling within the chamber reached his ears just barely. Another moment and the door swung open. Enide looked up at him with a blank face and curious eyes

On the first night of the 54 AC, Brandybottom and its Silkstone Keep opened up to the noble houses of the Reach for a week of festivities to usher in the new year. The Webber lands were situated amongst vast fields of pasture; many flocks of sheep could be seen roaming about as people made their way towards a solitary hill amongst these flatlands. To the west, where the tourney field and festival grounds had been laid out, the woods at the heart of the Osgrey lands could be seen. Far to the north, many more hills would be found, just hardly in sight. Upon that lone hill, though, past the ruins of a far older keep further down the slope, stood the small castle, known as the Silkstone Keep. At

Wynton Webber had not wished to depart from Brandybottom.

He had spent most of his life away from his family's home. His father, having preferred to be elsewhere, such as Leafy Lake, meant that Wynton had followed, but each place he had stayed before had not felt much like a home. But when Lord Elyas had been wounded, and Greydon Webber decided to return to his family, Wynton Webber had come to a place where he had indeed felt he belonged.

The village of Brandybottom was quaint, and the Silkstone keep was impressive only in the scored white stones that made it up, but he liked it there. His cousins had been kind to him, and suddenly his family had felt much bigger. Axell was like the older

Letters would fly out from the Rookery at Brandybottom, sealed with black wax, marked with a spider.

Lords and Ladies of the Reach

We of house Webber wish to open up our home to you, and would welcome you to join us in the first week of the first moon of the fifty-fourth year after Aegon’s Conquest for a festival at Brandybottom and the Silkstone keep. We hope to welcome in a glorious new year through joy, merriment, and plenty of feasting.

The Lord of Brandybottom’s bedchamber was lit only by the small fire, crackling fitfully in the hearth. It was never more than dim in this room anymore, though it was darker than usual as the fire neared being only embers. Axell Flowers knew he should tend it and throw another log on, bring it roaring back to life, but he was not ready to leave his father quite yet.

Axell often spent long hours sitting here, at Lord Elyas Webber’s bedside, though he was never sure why. He was not waiting for his father to return to his senses. Every Maester who had seen Lord Elyas had agreed that he would never return to himself again. There had been some hope at first, perhaps, but after a few months, Maes

when I was young I read this novel, probably a sort of Narnia rip off now that I think about it, but also I can barely remember it. just that I loved it. what I do remember is that it's cover was a close up of half the face of a white tiger with a blue I eye, at least I think.

I can't recall much plot details except that it's about a boy who discovers a secret magical world that he has to save. I think maybe also someone gets lost there? a sister or love interest. I don't remember, and it's been so long and I remember that there was supposed to be a sequel but I don't know if it ever came out and I desperately want to read it so please help me find this book.

On the Solid Path…

Sweat rolled off Oz’s brow, and it was so quiet he swore he could hear the drop hit the floor. Or maybe that was his imagination. He found his mind got a little overactive when he got so exhausted. It was something he only learned recently as he began to exercise.

I think that might be my cue for a break Oz mused to himself, but that didn’t mean he wouldn’t get an answer.

“What? Why” The voice of Oliatos chimed in, relaxed but confused.

Auditory hallucinations he responded in his mind, usually, he spoke out loud to his guests when alone, but he didn’t want to waste his breath. *I heard the drop hit the floor, but that’s impossible because I can only
