Hi folks, I recently moved to London (renting) and have found that we have no hot water when we get home from work.

Looking at the boiler it seems to be attached to some kind of "Horstmann Economy 7 2-Hour Quartz" Control (pic attached) which I'm not familiar with. I've looked up info online and as I understand it, its supposed to heat up only at night to use cheaper electricity (no gas at flat). Which is weird because the flat is on a standard variable tarriff and has one single flat rate for electricity all day - not econ 7.

I am the only one who showers in the morning - my partner showers when home from work. The problem is even with this limited hot water usage in the morning we're fin

I'm not sure I can properly define the thread that connects these movies but I enjoy the methodical, economic/legal/financial, true event, aspects of them. There's the theme of "Against the Odds" that I really enjoy. Preferably not a documentary. The closer the suggestion is in tone to the Big Short the better, almost light with underlying darkness.

Suggestions I've seen in other threads that I've enjoyed/seen before include; The Founder, Steve Jobs, Spotlight, Glengarry Glen Ross, Molly's Game, Wolf of Wall Street.

Cheers everyone!

Hello all,

A few years ago for my birthday I got my friends together to watch RRR for a drinking game which turned out to be an incredibly fun movie and perfect for the game, with rules like "drinking every time an animal used as a weapon", "everytime there's slow motion" etc.

I'd love to recreate that with another movie with a similar vibe and pacing to create opportunities for fun game rules, preferably Bollywood/Tollywood since I feel their over the top-ness is a lot of fun and they don't take themselves too seriously which lenda well to drinking games.

Any recommendations from r/movies? I've heard Bahubali mentioned in a couple threads.

Cheers everyone

Hello, I'm a young architect with 4 years industry experience, 1 year post licence in the UK. I'm already tired of working long hours for other people for low wages and seeing no fruits of my labours. My long term goal for some time has been to begin small scale development ie flat refurbishments etc and grow from there.

Seeing that the new government is promising special funding to promote small housebuilders as a way to hit their target new homes, is this a feasible route for me? I understand most people's answers will be I need more experience, which I would agree with. But I wonder if learn by doing is the route here, is it feasible to apply for a business loan and just jump straight i

Hi folks, bit of context my partner lives in San Francisco and we've been doing long distance for the past year while I finished my Part 3, which I graduated in March. I'm hoping to make a move out to be with her out there but I'm conscious of needing a company to sponsor me which I'm expecting will be quite difficult. Has anyone here made that transition or has any advice for me? For extra context I work in Scotland primarily on commercial refurbishment projects of Listed buildings, + a few new build resi. Trying to think if I might have some speciality skills that may be valuable to US firms.... Thanks very much for any help and insight!

Hi there,

I've been trying to work with midjourney as a simple early stage conceptualisation for interior refurbishment, but whenever I try to blend images or create a variant of an image I've uploaded (say of an existing room), it will create a whole new room that it deems to be comparable. Has anyone found a way to have midjourney recognise the constraints/geometry of one image and apply the (architectural) style of another image to it?

For example, is there a way to upload an image of an existing club room, and have midjourney pull out feautres from a precedent image such as green walls, woodpanelling, a chandellier etc and apply them to the geometry of the existing club room?

Hi everyone, I'll get right into the meat and potatoes of the issue, I'm in my mid twenties and in the early stages of my career, making £28k, and I've never had a credit card. My girlfriend is moving back to California this Summer for (at least) a year long internship, and we'll be doing long distance for the next year or so depending on whether there are opportunities for me to move to the U.S/Canada, or we move to Australia, or if she even enjoys her internship. I've been looking at credit cards for a short while but there's so much information its difficult to digest whats the best one for me.

I've found this Amex Nectar card which offers 20,000 nectar points (=12500 Avios) as a sign up
