Hi everyone,

I’m looking to rent a place for my family and would love some advice from people currently living in these areas.

I’m considering Askari 4, NHS Karsaz, and Bahadurabad/PECHS. Looking for either an apartment or a portion, preferably 2–3 bedrooms.

My priorities are:

  • Safe and secure family environment
  • Quiet/neighborhood feel
  • Parks or green spaces nearby
  • Good parking and water situation
  • Convenient access to schools, markets, etc.

For those living in these areas, what is the current rent range for a decent 2–3 bed apartment or portion? Also, which specific blocks/buildings or streets would you recommend?

I’m particularly interested in Bahadurabad if th

Hi everyone,

I’ve noticed many fresh graduates, as well as those with 1–2 years of experience, are finding it difficult to secure job opportunities.

I’m creating this thread as a shared space where we can list and share any companies, startups, software houses, or organizations that are currently hiring for entry-level engineers, analysts, or similar technical roles.

If your company is hiring, or if you know of any opportunities for early-career professionals, please share them here.

Thanks! Let’s support each other in finding these opportunities.

Hello everyone, I'm currently looking for job opportunities for my sister in companies or software houses that are hiring Computer Science graduates. She has 1 year of work experience in the field.

If you know of any openings or organizations hiring, please feel free to DM me or drop the company name in the comments. Any contact details or leads would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

First Car + Budgeting Advice

Car/ Bike recommendation

Looking for some solid advice from people who've been through it. We are planning to buy our first car and we need help figuring out what car makes the most sense for our situation (and whether our budgeting makes sense).

We’re a small family of three; my wife, our 2-month-old baby, and I. Both of us mostly work from home, so we don’t have a daily commute. The car would primarily be for city driving in Karachi, grocery runs, doctor visits, and occasional family outings.

💼 Financial Situation:

  • I earn PKR 600K/month (after tax deduction)
  • My wife earns PKR 350K/month (after tax deduction),
  • That gives us a combined household income of ~950K/month

Looking for some solid advice from people who've been through it. I'm planning to buy my first car around September 2024, and I need help figuring out what car makes the most sense for my situation (and whether my budgeting makes sense).

💼 Financial Situation:

  • I earn PKR 600K/month (after 1% tax deduction)
  • My wife earns PKR 350K/month (net),
  • That gives us a combined household income of ~950K/month

📉 Our Monthly Expenses:

  • I give 160K to my parents
  • She gives 100k to her parents
  • Spend about 70K on personal/household expenses
  • 50k utilities and stuff
  • 100k/month house rent
  • So ~480K/month in fixed costs right now

we are left with ~470k i

Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a dilemma and would love some perspective.

I currently live in Gulistan-e-Johar, Karachi, in a 4-bed DD apartment with my wife, two brothers, and parents. Life is comfortable, but we're expecting a baby soon, and the apartment is starting to feel overcrowded.

Right now, the only personal space my wife and I have is one room. While my wife gets along wonderfully with my family (thankfully), I can sense she’d really appreciate more space, autonomy, and a home she can truly make her own.

I earn a decent salary (~PKR 500k/month) and work remotely, so I have some flexibility. I'm stuck between two broad options:

Option 1: Move to Islamabad

I recently got married to the love of my life, who loves me more than anything, takes care of me. I have a decent paying job and my parents love me and I live a good life. But every night when I go to bad, I feel sad and depressed but I don't know why. Couple of years ago before I met my wife, I was depressed since like 3 years. I would use staying out of the house as sort of an escape but nights hit me hard when I was in bed planning to sleep. I used to smoke, a lot and I have that up once I got married (8 months now). I do worry, worry a lot about my future. I live in Pakistan, I'm in a dilemma between looking for a better place to live in Pakistan or try to leave this country for a bette
