Is there a way to access your Daily Discovery playlist from the previous day? I keep losing music I want to listen to!
The second verse of the Cheers theme is about your child being an aspiring serial killer
genius.com/Gary-portnoy-where-everybody-knows...When cops and socos/forensics are shown examining evidence at a crime scene, they often pick up an object with gloves or a cloth. In TV/movies this is done to prevent getting their own prints on the item, but surely this smears or smudges the fingerprints under the cloth?
Presumably in real life they would be very careful where they hold an item, even while wearing gloves? Or are fingerprints actually robust and survive this kind of handling?
My wife and I got into the audio books and were quoting madly before Christmas, so my son asked for the book and my wife got him the first two.
Which he did not read. "Are you going to read it?" "I'm going to, I've been busy!" After that, he read the first chapter, and stopped.
I knew that telling him to read didn't help, so I needed a different approach. When the three of us were in the car, I put on the start of the free Soundbooth Theater episode, with the Oak Mother prologue about the selection of the 201st Security Group - Magical Ops.
We all enjoyed it, and the next morning he said Carl and Donut got to a safe room, so I was happy. He then stalled for a week. He plays D&D and has h
Excession from Iain M Banks finally became available on Audible last week in the US - I know the UK has had it for years - but unfortunately, there's an issue with the recording and five and half pages are missing, with the relevant chapter just ending half-way through the word 'everything'. This is made more serious because until this moment there have been four unconnected threads running for 60 pages and this missing section explains everything to tie them all together.
It also contains what I consider one of Banks' most glorious sentences (from my UK version):
An Outside Context Problem was the sort of thing most civilisations encountered just once, and which they tended to encounter
Where are the good places to find a Christmas tree in Ithaca?
I was watching the film Heads of State and the Americans kept calling Idris Elba Mr Prime Minister. Then I watched Black Doves and the American called the prime minister, Mr Prime Minister.
Mr Prime Minister is not a title in the UK. Prime minister is a job, like handyman or janitor. You wouldn't say Mr Janitor, and you don't say Mr Prime Minister. The proper way to address the prime minister is to say, prime minister, or the persons name, or just say twat face.
My family are coming to the end of season seven, which is where the Amazon Prime collection stops.
Is it worth seeking out the subsequent seasons? How do you compare the two groups of seasons?
Gunboats pop up a lot in the stories, and I've never had a solid image of them in my mind. I understand there are men with oars and a cannon, but the relative size of the gun to the boat was a complete mystery.
This design for the upcoming Ahoy game finally allows me to understand. Fifty-two feet, thirty men and a 24 pound gun (which is comparatively tiny - my imagination draws too much from Bugs Bunny!).
I just watched Identity Crisis and it had a moment about Columbo's wife that I thought was fascinating.
There are a couple of theories about Columbo's wife. First, there are those who believe she does not exist, and all the things he says about her interests and likes are just made up to create conversation with his suspect. Then there is a variation, that is that she does exist - but all the things he says about her interests and likes are just made up to create conversation with his suspect.
So in Identity Crisis, Columbo visits CIA operative, Patrick McGoohan who at a certain point plays music from Madam Butterfly. This prompts the Lieutenant to declare that this is his wife's favourite
"The person appeared to run on to the runway before voluntarily entering the engine."
news.sky.com/story/flights-suspended-after-ma...That loading screen wisdom should be rewritten as: Don't give up, even if you have six life, nothing in hand and no untapped creatures, and your opponent has a 6/7 flyer - your opponent may be disconnected and lose not just this game, but the whole BO3!
But seriously, is there no way to reconnect with the PC game if you lose connection? Does closing down the game and re-running it do anything?
