I’m traveling to Asia in June (only time work allows, I know weather not ideal) and plan to do ~1 week solo and ~1.5–2 weeks with my best friend. 2 countries, 1 solo and 1 with her.

One part must be Japan (open to solo or together).

Considering Vietnam, Thailand, or South Korea for the other country (open to suggestions).

We’re both 30, not into partying (my friend doesn’t drink).

Any thoughts on:

•	Best country to pair with Japan in June?

•	What works better solo vs with a friend?

Thanks!

Hi everyone! I’m looking for some perspective from teachers who’ve worked across different grade levels.

I currently teach kindergarten online (yes, it’s wild), about four hours a day, four days a week. Our schedule would stay the same regardless of the grade level I teach. I’ve taught 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 5th in the past, but kindergarten feels uniquely exhausting — lots of performing, lots of managing attention spans, and lots of listening to very passionate tangents about unicorns. This year especially, I’m finding it harder to sustain that energy.

My mom is a middle school math teacher (6th–8th), and I’ve completed some math coursework myself. I’d just need to pass the subject tests to m

I see that they have leveled the ground near Old Town. It looks like the Altair housing development will go there. Does anyone know why they stopped or when they will be done with building?

St Pete help

Local Questions :snoo_thoughtful:

Hi! My boyfriend and I are going to St. Pete for about 11 days in January and I’m trying to figure out the best area to stay. We were originally thinking of booking an Airbnb, but I’m torn between staying downtown or staying near the beach (or combo of both)

For anyone familiar with the area, what are the pros/cons of each? Is there one you recommend?

Also, what are some must-do things in and around St. Pete? We’ll probably have a car for a couple of days, so I’m also curious about nearby cities or day trips worth checking out.

Do we need a car, or is public transit good enough? I heard something about a trolley that goes around or lime bikes?

Any tips, neighborhoods to look at, restau

Hey everyone! My boyfriend and I are both remote workers, and we’re planning to spend January and early February 2026 doing a long working road trip through Florida and the Carolinas. We’re thinking about 6–8 weeks total.

We’d love help building a rough itinerary, especially places to stay a couple weeks at a time (Airbnbs or similar), and can move around a bit in between. Open to a mix of beach towns, nature spots, walkable cities, and maybe some small towns with charm.

Here’s what we know so far: ✔️We’d like to focus more heavily on Florida, with at least 4–5 weeks there. ✔️We definitely want to check out St. Pete (have heard great things), and Charlotte NC (friend that lives there) ✔️W

I currently live in San Diego, and as many of you know, the weather is pretty much unbeatable. That said, I’m really craving a different lifestyle—something with more space, more nature, and the ability to have a garden (and maybe even chickens someday).

The challenge is that San Diego is so expensive, and everyone lives practically on top of each other. Even in the suburbs, you’re paying a lot for very little space. I’d love to find a place that offers: • A good mix of suburb and city living • Within a 20–30 minute drive of a real city (for jobs, culture, dining, etc.) • An opportunity to buy a home on an acre or two—enough space to have a garden and some breathing room • Ideally with
