I have no idea how any of you guys find people to be in a relationship with. One time i used all the courage i had in my entire body and tried an app and actually met a girl in person and she told me I was " too insecure" and had 0 confidence for her to be attracted to me. Safe to say that I will never try that again, because if that happens with another girl i will genuinely never recover.

I see many people post about having a partner, and I'm just curious, how do you guys do it?

I see this all the time, like somehow the fact that you are a woman means that you are unable to be lonely. I agree, it's so much easier to find a date if you are a woman, and i agree, it's mainly men who are lonely, but people forget it's not as simple as " Girls can always find a guy to date so their loneliness is their own fault"

So I'm curious why some of you guys think that women as an entire gender are exempt from loneliness? Like damn i wish it worked that way

I remember being like 9 and being too scared to eat around other people because they might not like what I'm eating. Even as early as like 1st grade i remember having avoidant tendencies. I dont know what caused it so I'm asking you guys if you have any idea about why you formed AvPD.

I was reading the mayo clinic page for depersonalization and saw this

"Risk factors: Certain personality traits that make you want to stay away from stressful situations or make it hard to describe your emotional experience."

This was among the other causes we all know like trauma, stress, and drugs. Im not really sure where the mayo clinic got this conclusion from, but i was wondering if you guys think your personality has a role in your depersonalization.

For me personally, i avoid stress at every chance, I'm socially anxious and avoid going out if i can. I choose my major solely because the jobs dont require me to talk to anyone.

just curious how many of you feel like you fit into thi

Ok maybe I'm just being cynical but i can't help but have a consistent hatred for people in relationships. I get genuinely irked when i see people online who only post about their significant other and make romance their whole personality. I can barely understand people who say that they will die if their partner breaks up with them, or people who complain " i haven't gotten laid in 3 weeks!!". like ok atleast you've gotten laid. Everytime i see a happy couple my immediate thought is that i hope they break up. I dont really want to be a hateful person, but i can't help but see all couples through a lens of hate.

The closest friend ive ever had blocked me because her girlfriend was jealous

I'm 19 and it's honestly hard for me to even go for a walk because I'm scared someone will try to talk to me, I feel like I'm going to be like this for the rest of my life, and that scares me, but I'm also scared to try. I feel like if i put myself out there, and people dont like me, then i will just be even more discouraged and afraid of people, and then i will never improve.

I try to trick myself into thinking that i dont need anybody else and that I'm ok being alone but I'm so desperate for just any human connection. Social anxiety will be the death of me but i have no idea how to start improving.
