Any of you ever get the feeling of wanting to have a break from yourself? I sometimes fantasize that I drop everything and run off, but then I realize it would not change anything because I can't outrun myself. I can only describe it as being exhausted of having myself around all the time...

Today is the second day I didn't complete an important task at work despite telling my coworkers I would do it last week. Instead I spent over an hour on Reddit. I couldn't even go home and actually have some nice free time because I didn't manage to get up to pack and leave.

I am now at home, overwhelmed because there are at least three different people I have been wanting to call for several days now

Feeling of dread after professional meetings?

Emotional Regulation & Rejection Sensitivity

Context: I am not (yet) diagnosed, but I suspecting and am trying to make sense of my experiences. I cleaned up this post using AI.

I have this recurring "symptom" ever since I entered the professional world, and I was wondering if any of you who are diagnosed have similar experiences.

I work with many stakeholders, including management. It is stressful because I am always on high alert during meetings, trying not to say or do something wrong. The most painful part, though, is the feeling of "dread" I get after meetings with people I don't know well (i.e., I don't know what is important to them, what they dislike, etc.), especially if they are higher up in the hierarchy.

It is hard to de

I have recently learned about myself that I may have ADHD (and currently trying to get a doctor's appointment).

Since I had the realization, I am viewing a lot of things from my past in a different light. Something that I can't entirely make sense of, however, is how the first covid lockdown (in Europe) positively affected me. I think I was never so in much at peace with myself before or after.

I was worrking in academia at the time and had a desk job. I had to move from the office to work from home entirely. I was staying in contact with my coworkers online. It was spring, and I spent so much time on the terrace of my flat, enjoying the sun. I had routines that I managed to keep up real

Symptoms getting worse when observed?

General Question/Discussion

I recently made the discovery that I may have ADHD. I am in the process of finding someone that can diagnose me (but that's a different topic).

Since I started my suspicion about ADHD, I have been observing potential symptoms more closely - realizing that there were a lot more symptoms than I was aware.

However, since then I have the feeling that the intensity of the symptoms is increasing. And I have been wondering wether that is something that you have observed as well? Even my bf has made a comment in that direction.

I feel more clumsy and forgetful. And procrastination is a lot worse than usually (may be linked to the fact that a lot of people are on vacation right now, and I struggle

Let me start by saying that I am not diagnosed (yet). I have already contacted my former therapist to ask whether they are doing ADHD Diagnostics or know someone who does.

I am in my mid 30ies now. It NEVER occurred to me that I might have ADHD until a few weeks ago.

My brother has severe ADD and was diagnosed as a kid. A few weeks ago Iearned that my dad thinks he and his dad both had undiagnosed ADHD. That was when I learned that there is a high genetic factor to ADHD and that women often get diagnosed only later in life because they are better at masking.

Despite this, I doubted I have it, too. I was always good at school (despite being lazy), did a PhD, I am successful at work. But t

This is a short horror story, but I still shake my head about it. Not sure it fits the "SA" trigger warning, but it contains inappropriate behavior at minimum.

Many years ago, I was very interested in RPG but only had played one session before. So I was very excited when I got an opportunity to play again:

My bf at the time was playing a campaign with some of his friends online. His character had a love interest in the campaign, which was an NPC. When I got to know his friends, the DM had the great idea to invite me to one of the sessions and let me play said NPC for one session. For reference: I (f) was around 19 and my ex was 1-2 years older than me. The DM (m) was in his thirties, an

Ignorance of others

Venting / Suffering

My posts have been constructive until here, but I really need to vent today.

I have had Gastritis for over four months now, it's my second time, and it is slowly getting better. I am not the most patient person, but I am doing my best. Step by step.

However other people seem to be so much less patient than me. It's disbelief over and over again, like it is my fault that I am not fully recovered yet. Sorry, it takes forever to get a GI appointment here - what do you want me to do? I am so happy that I am feeling slowly better, but they just see that I still can't eat "normal".

Now we have a team meeting and we are going to a cooking class! I mean I understand that we are > 20 people and n
