Came up with a fun add-on that functions as a balancing mechanic. I call it "the Puck of Fickle Fuckery" though it really needs a good all-audiences name.

You use a marker disc or something like it. An actual hockey puck might work.

At any moment, the Puck is in possession of a single player, beginning with the first player to tee off. You might decide who starts with the Puck another way if you like.

The possessor of the Puck may use it one of two ways.

1.) Play the Puck on yourself. Throw the Puck as a disc. This does NOT cost a stroke. Continue to throw your next shot from the new OR original lie. When done, possession of the Puck goes to the player with the highest score as of the p

I've dreamed up a little format for a foursome with my buddies. It's pretty straight-forward I think.

The whole round is played as 2 v 2 Best Disc rules.

For the first third of the round the teams are players A & B versus players C & D. The middle third is players A & C versus players B & D. The final third is players A & D versus players B & C.

Each player records the full stroke count on every hole for themselves individually. For instance, if team A/B scored a 3, both players would mark a 3 for themselves SEPARATELY.

In this way we can play with a partner and finish with an individual winner.

Does this have a name already?

Is there a term for a strike when all ten pins are cleared from the lane into the pit?

I find those to be the most satisfying.

I was trying to think of ways to explain how my shitlib buddies misunderstand capitalism. They've got that classic habit of cramming any and all bad things into a nonsensical definition. You know how it goes... Hit by a bus? Capitalism. Leaky roof? Capitalism. Dick too small? Capitalism. One of the ways they like to mischaracterize capitalism is insisting that it demands certain specific actions. Like "capitalists worship the dollar and think money should be given to corporations." You've heard it before.

Would I be wrong to correct them and say that capitalism DESCRIBES what people do with resources when they're free to decide for themselves? It doesn't PRESCRIBE what they should do. Is

I'm repeatedly having to exit out of the game to stop an autosave at the start of missions. The reason is that my deployment is right on top of the enemy deployment. It's almost like we're sharing a deployment zone. Then they get first turn, run right behind me and kill one or more of my pilots before my first activation. This happens roughly once every six or so deployments.

This is not acceptable. What can I do?

And no, I will not accept "get higher initiative" as an answer.

So I'm looking around the star map thinking of a more distant system. I might sail to. Thinking I might pop into a store somewhere if they sell some extra fancy gear. Flip on the map filter for several of the store types, most notably Star League and Star League (ADV) only to find they don't exist outside the middle south periphery. That's it? Why nowhere else? Am I missing something?
