The series arc has a narrative explaining Dong-eun's carefully crafted and long prepared revenge against Yeon-jin for her horrific bullying. There is a scene in episode 1 of Dong-eun confronting Yeon-jin in Dong-eun's apartment. This sets up the backstory of what led them to this point with Dong-eun's justification.

The only problem is this scene doesn't seem to fit anywhere in the actual story.

In a much later episode Yeon-jin breaks into Dong-eun's apartment and sees the photos. Dong-eun sarcastically remarks on it to her. But in that original scene Yeon-jin acts like she is seeing the photos for the first scene. Does that mean it was imagined?

I rewatched the first episode because the

I'm not on this system, but I'm trying to make sense of it.

A rational person would think the goal is full-time work. Done. Nothing more required. Finished.

But in practice, additional points requirements are needed to meet the 100 point monthly requirement — though there are specific exceptions.

A cynic would surmise this improves metrics by "encouraging" participants to exit the payment, despite receiving no income, through de-facto harassment. Who wants to be going to appointments and doing other tasks when they're already working full-time? Nothing is more ridiculous than a non-compliant JobSeeker full-time worker — it's a bureaucratic invention no reasonable person would think is rem

I'm not going through this system - I have in the past - but many features about it makes me raise an eyebrow, to put it mildly. Some might call them "punitive" or "busywork", and the evidence of it making people more employable or putting people into work faster than would otherwise happen seems based on vibes and handwaving confidence.

What do people think about giving mutual obligations to under-35 disability pensioners, who by the government's own assessment are permanently impaired from obtaining enough work to support themselves? Depending on who you ask, the purpose of MO's are to deter people from receiving income support or staying on it, or to help people get a job. It does seem o

I know this is dramatising real-world dynamics in mother-daughter relationships, but Ginny's power moves against her mother, rubbing in her disdain at her mother, are sometimes ouch! Especially the smoothie given to Paul, who hadn't done anything to hurt Ginnie.

Georgia is of course no angel. She is manipulative and rash. But for all her faults she is unflinchingly devoted to her daughter and has made unimaginable sacrifices to her.

When Ginnie finds out the truth, isn't of that bringing her closer to her mother or at least putting her rage on pause, she doubles down. She is almost campaigning to bring down her mother in an act of revenge. The cruelty doesn't reflect well on her, and Georg

I had a feeling things would ease up. But I've just been hammered today. No energy to leave the house.

Fatigue is the worst symptom. Like all the energy had been squeezed out of me. Barely manage to do things around the house.

Can't wait for this thing to give me a break.

Any words of wisdom or things you want to say are most welcome!

The people around me either half acknowledge my condition in a tokenistic way or dismiss it altogether. Even when it's acknowledged, the consequences are largely ignored. My problems are imagined to come from sheer bad luck or bad decisions on my part. The condition is at best of marginal importance.

I used to think it was due to an inability on my part to use the correct language. But I don't think that's the case. Anyone can easily imagine what it's like to have a bad case of the flu that never goes away and continues affecting your life.

Rather, I think there is a bias towards erasing chronic conditions, or sanitising them, because it doesn't conflict with a tidy worldview. It has to fi

There seems to be a prevailing view among family members that you have to self sacrifice to survive this economic system of Neoliberalism and you will be rewarded — bootstrapping, individual responsibility, meritocracy.

There are lots of fallacies at play, including:

  • Just world (surely the disabled wouldn't be punished unnecessarily in our society)

  • Fundamental attribution error (it's the fault of the individual, not the system)

  • Self-victimisation (you're so aggressive at mentioning your problems while I have been nothing but kind and supportive, despite my angry outbursts and blame leveled at you)

  • Survivorship bias (I know people who are disabled and succeed and I don't listen t

Anyone following politics has always heard about "unemployment this" and "unemployment that." Government is always trying to fix unemployment apparently, but it's also the fault of the "bludgers" and feckless welfare recipients, who need to be put on a starvation rate and policed as a result.

What if I told you creating a pool of unemployed to fight inflation was a deliberate bipartisan government policy, given to the RBA as a monetary policy — a "hands off" measure? If unemployment exceeds this "natural" level or the RBA's "full employment" level, inflation results. So a minimum level of unemployed is needed — a pool sometimes called the "reserve army". Also, that sends a signal to people

In the morning, I wake up with this feeling of electrical inertia, a kind of heaviness resisting all movement in my limbs, with a fog of dizzy sickly fatigue permeating their space. It's like a cloudy electrical burden holding you down.

As the day wears on, it's more of a localised dizzy legs feeling.

It's quite similar to that flu-like state in your limbs that makes moving especially onerous.

Does anyone else experience this or know what it is?

I want to be able to describe my body to an able-bodied person, if at all possible.

I get into this spell. A kind of freeze state. I might get stuck into one activity. Or I might only be able to do things that are low effort and give immediate gratification — often leaving me feel empty. My concentration when I'm in this state can degrade over time. Often it's accompanied by brain fog and sickly fatigue. Things I would love to do like read a book, watch a video, go for a walk or listen to a podcast feel impossible.

I'm talking about executive dysfunction. It comes and goes. It's usually induced by fibro symptoms, since I don't lack executive functioning when I'm symptom free.

The problem is switching tasks, or attention, or executing them — I can see the kitchen, I can va

On another subreddit, I discussed how I got cut off from income support because of my personal circumstances — won't repeat myself here. It was obviously an unfair situation because while I'm able to work fo some degree, I can't attain financial stability without support. And I had no income for two-and-a-half months. Certain other disabled people agreed with me, but then they repeatedly made abusive comments and weaponised mental health. They seemed to hate me bringing this topic up and went beserk. Their advice was, if you get cut off support, just hustle through, because certain other disabled people can. And if it feels unfair, talk to a psychologist.

I suspect they're just repeating th
