Hi guys, I've been struggling seriously with this sin for about a year now after some 10-11 years of just doing it without shame. I've been a lurker, and many of the posts here have reminded me of the uselessness of despair and the importance of persistence.
Anyway, what is the best way to get involved in some sort of accountability group (or a single partner if that's a better idea) and how do they work? Thanks.
ITT: We do a neoreactionary analysis on pre-enlightenment unjust rulers (if they even weren't unjust). The point is to develop a good sense of what constitutes tyranny in a traditional society, and then to ponder what (if anything) can be done to prevent/reduce its occurrence.
Possible Tyrants (posit your own if you want also):
I assume people here don't really buy into the standard narrative of the Ancien Regime being so oppressive that the common people rose up and overthrew them.
If this isn't the case, however, what caused such a drastic event to occur?
This guy isn't necessarily right-wing and he's definitely not NRx, but this .pdf is one of the documents which turned me slowly from libertarianism to reaction. It was written at the turn of the millenium and has many insights about the nature of welfare, the civilizational cycle, social cohesion, government authority, etc.
It's not really talked about a lot outside of conspiracy/survivalist groups on the internet, but the tone isn't anything like that at all.
If automation causes there to be no need for the majority of humans to work, what is the ideal way to handle the masses who are not economically necessary anymore? What of Welfare? Workfare?
