I’ve been desperately looking for a reasonable way to add a towing hitch to my D90. Every once in a while someone posts a question about it here, and I hope for a suggestion that is less than $2k.

As I was at the dealer yesterday, the service rep told me, in confidence, that I can try U-haul.

To my surprise, I go on the website and find

Has anyone tried this route? I admit I don’t trust a U-haul tech to install a tow hitch in my precious vehicle, for a $350 installation fee, where everywhere else I look it’s a ~$3500 job

I just set up a Starlink Mini (Roam 100GB plan) as a wireless WAN backup failover (connected via WiFi SD adapter on 5GHz to the Mini sitting on my exterior fascia). When it’s active, throughput maxes out around 10 Mbps, way lower than my primary fiber at 1Gbps and the 250Mbps I get from Starlink. (This is a different issue, the SD Wifi adapter has been disappointing)

I want Firewalla to automatically adapt when the wireless WAN becomes the active upstream instead of fiber to control how much I consume from the Starlink.
I know I can use Route Rules with Target Lists to match traffic patterns, and I’m thinking this might be the way:

I live in Florida, and I am considering getting the 100/$55 residential plan as a backup to my 1G fiber connection.

The question is: if installing the antenna outside on the roof, are they resistant to something like cat 1 or cat 2 hurricane winds?
If I want to use it a a back when things are nice and dandy, great, but would I have to bring it back inside of the house if I need to shutter the house?

I’m a music-first listener with an Apple Music HiRes/Dolby setup, currently running a stereo pair of Era 300s + Sub Mini that I love. I’m seriously considering switching to Sonos Amp + high-end passive bookshelf speakers (KEF or B&O) for two reasons:

1. Better sound quality: I understand that quality passive speakers driven by the Amp would likely sound better than the Era 300s for critical music listening. But not sure if it’ll be marginal.
2. Long-term flexibility: I’d rather own the speaker choice now and have the option to swap amps later (WiiM, higher-end amps) without being locked into Sonos’s all-in-one ecosystem. Granted I’ve been with Sonos for a long time, and im reaching that

I'm a heavy user of TickTick. Have a robust GTD system in place, and as you'd expect, that also means I am very resistant to changing my perfectly functioning system.

I've been waiting for more maturity in Capacities' Tasks feature. I'm seeing it improving. THe best appeal for me is the fact it's embedded in the UI. i.e. I can see my calendar view, home view, tasks, and daily note, all in the daily interface. Really looks amazing to combine Notes and Tasks all in one place.

I've also being testing out the new MCP server. So far it looks good. TickTick also launched an MCP server, and from Claude I can create notes, create tasks, etc.

I am curious if there's some heavy users of Capacities'

After 5+ years with Todoist, and the recent product direction and price changes, I have decided to cancel my Legacy Pro subscription. I have the renewal coming up in February (yearly plan) and simply want to know, what are the consequences of this shift to Free Plan?

More context:

• I have several archived projects (~50), active projects (~10), and several tags (~25).
• I’ve been able to migrate most but not all of my tasks and content to TickTick.
• I have no “teams” or “shared projects”.
• I don’t anticipate I will be logging to the Free plan and use it; I just may not want to lose my existing information in it, in case I want to revert back in the future.

I’ve been testing Origin as a potential migration from Monarch for the past month or six weeks. I am liking it so far.

Yesterday, I logged in and noticed a few transactions (transfers from an investment account to a savings account) that were not categorized properly. So I went on the transactions tab, filtered for those 10+ transactions. Those 10+ transactions were displayed for me. I then wanted to bulk edit them, and instead of selecting one at a time, I checked the box for “select all”. This ticked all those 10+ displayed transactions. To reiterate, the filter is still applied, and only those 10+ were showing and selected.

I am closing on a 23 foot Edgewater Center Console located in Stuart, FL, and my home base marina is in Key Largo, FL.

A shipper would charge me $1000 to tow it end to end. Renting a trailer maybe $500 (but I need to borrow a family pickup truck)

Am I crazy to consider just taking it down the Intercostal my self? It’s a maybe 160 n miles trip, maybe one very very long day?

Any other suggestions?

The Weeknd released a new album today (31 Jan) that is available on Qobuz, but I do not see it (even searching) in my Roon app. Is there a way to force a sync? Is it normal to see a delay on what’s new in Roon?

I have been on the trial for Roon the past two weeks. Installed the server in an intel base iMac and it has been great. I have a stereo pair of Sonos Era 300 with a sub-mini in my family room, and a pair of old Play:1s in Stereo in the adjacent living room. I have set them up in roon to use Sonos net (not Airplay or Bluetooth). I can group them in Roon. I have noticed, that when I start in the older Play:1 setup, and then create the group bringing the Era 300 setup, although it plays in both zones, the music in the Era 300 setup is choppy and bad. It breaks up as in buffering and I assume down sampling too.

Is this normal? Why would it happen? My server?

I am looking for recommendations on a nice box (or system) to store and keep a small but growing watch collection. Anything between 5 to 10 pieces. Thanks in advance! (Posting here because my favorite piece right now is my Tudor BB58 blue)

Hello.👋. I have been testing Capacities as a substitute for my short-live AnyType setup. I like Capacities simplicity, more natural naming convention, and especially the Tasks Actions integration (they are the perfect flow for me to take notes during a meeting, create action items, and then have them land in my main Task Management app).

One item I am still to test is offline access. I am going on a trip to Japan from the US and will be 15+ hours in planes without an Internet connection. I’ve read the documentation and recent posts about Capacities getting better with offline.

Are there any tips or gotchas I should be aware of? I don’t want to risk writing tons of notes and content for 15

Let’s say I have three devices with Anytype: (1) Personal desktop with MacOS; (2) Mobile phone with iOS; and (3) work laptop with Windows OS.

(1) and (2) are personal devices that I can keep updated to the latest version. However, (3), the work computer, is locked by admin and I need to request permission to update any app installed. This is cumbersome (and also dangerous security-wise).

What are the consequences or drawbacks of running (1) and (2) on the latest version of Anytype, and (3) on two or three versions behind? If new features like widgets are implemented, what happens in the older version? Any potential sync issues?

I have two unrelated questions that I’d love some confirmation before going to support:

1. My brand new Sonos Ace doesn’t stop/start Music when removed from my head. The feature is enabled; updated to the latest firmware tonight (it took about 45 minutes for some reason, BTW), and it just doesn’t work. Am I missing something?

2. I have an iPhone iOS phone, latest app. After last week’s update it says they reintroduced features into the app. One of them is “add to queue”. For the love of God I cannot find how to add a song that I search, to the playing queue. Am I missing something?

I’d appreciate if anyone under similar conditions can confirm if these two options work for you.

Maybe I am overlooking or trying too hard. How can I see the number of words or characters in an object like a note or document?
