Anyone tried, or in the middle of doing a "No Spend Month"?

For context, I dont really need to. I'm just trying it to see how I go. I've cut back on unused (or minimally used) subscriptions, renegotiated some utilities and insurances, so I'm not only doing the "No Spend Month", but also being really frugal at the same time.

I work at Coles full time (ex butcher, now shop floor team member with some leadership). Pretty shit, but convenient. Good work life balance, swinging more to "life" than "work". Very little accountability and responsibility. 5 days off a fortnight.

Weekly expenses, all said and told (mortgage, food, insurances, cars, bills, rates, etc), are about 45% of my take home

Do we all run with a budget, or just spend as you need and have a rough idea?

If you have a budget, are they exact numbers that you stick to every week, or is your budget your ongoing average guide. For example, I budget for $40 a week in fuel, but a bit over a week ago, fuel was $1.68, so instead of putting $40 in, i filled the car and the two 10 litre jerry cans, costing $128.

Groceries are the same - I budget for $60 a week, but one week might be $100, the next 2 weeks are top ups at $40 each.

We all know about the Lazy Tax. Its when we pay extra because we're too lazy, forgetful, or dont get around to checking what we could be paying. Its often associated with insurance policies. We just let them roll over to the next year and accept the increase in premium.

Its elsewhere, too, though. Do regular check ups on utility bills. You might spend half an hour on the phone to save $400 for the year. You just worked for $800/hr, tax free.

I just did this myself again, this time with electricity. Bear in mind, I'm full electric where I am, no gas bill, no water bill (tank water), so electric hot water, as well as a pump for the water.

My old rates were :

I live in a regional Australian town called Hamilton. Just down the road is a town called Casterton - the birthplace of the Australian Kelpie.

For any of you that are fans of the Kelpie (we all are!) here's some links about the Australian Kelpie Centre and Casterton you might enjoy.

I personally have 1.5 Kelpies. A full blood 6 month old named "Winter" and a 2 year old Koolie-Kelpie Cross named "Drown"

Pretty much as the title suggests...

I'm trying to find a calculator that offers all three in one - the base mortgage repayment, the added payment (choice of frequency) AND the offset option, with the feature of adding to the offset amount every week/month.

I've looked at many bank financial institution websites with calculators, and Bendigo Bank calculator comes close, in that it has all the information (added repayments included), culminating in a line graph, but the offset feature is just a base figure, without the option of adding to it weekly.

I currently pay an extra 50% of my base mortgage repayment. This adds to how much ahead I am and the redraw figure I have available, should

What's your knowledge and experience been with getting new uniforms?

For Coles, we have to log onto MyColes and order new uniforms, and it gets paid for in the next pay cycle before tax. Why the fuck do I have to pay for it?

The EBA states:

"6.2 Special Clothing

Where Coles requires a team member to wear any protective or special clothing such as a uniform, dress or other clothing then Coles will reimburse the team member for any cost of purchasing such clothing and the cost of replacement items, when replacement is due to normal wear and tear. This provision will not apply where the special clothing is supplied and/or paid for by Coles."

The "This provision will not apply where the

I live in regional Victoria, moving here from Melbournes SE 4 years ago.

When I sold in Melbourne, I got something like $40K more than the middle estimate on RE. A friend recently sold in my town for 30% up on the middle estimate. My house seems to swing, and has even gone up on the website, despite the interest rate increases.

How accurate do you think it is nowadays? What has your experience been?
