I've had a small Mega account for years but after having a Pro III account for about 6 months, I really like it and want to use more than 20TB. Problem is the next step up is more for business and paying for tons of bandwidth I do not need. I've read in many places including old posts from here you can have multiple paid Mega accounts from one IP address, they just need different email address logins.

Before going through with this I just want to confirm this is correct, and make sure there isn't a 30TB or 40TB basic/home user tier coming soon that I should possibly just wait for. Thanks.

A few weeks back I mentioned that some Steam games were not correctly reporting playtime and sessions back to Playnite. Every game launched through Playnite tracks correctly of course, but if I was playing Steam games on non-Playnite computers, some of them weren't tracking play sessions/time.

I put my Steam client and Playnite side by side, went back a whole year looking at every Steam game who's playtime wasn't reported to Playnite, and 100% of them (of dozens) had the Profile Features Limited setting on them on the store. Here's an explanation of that infuriatingly stupid restriction and tens of thousands of games that are currently saddled by it: https://steamdb.info/tag/1003823/

A new emulator forked off PCSX2 that plays Namco 246/256 arcade games. Needs specific setup instructions but that's not relevant to this subreddit.

Of course use your own paths for the folder, exe, and the rom folder in the autoscanner.

If you try to auto add the emulator folder, Playnite will pick it up as PCSX2 but don't do this as there are a few key differences between the two, particularly that PCSX2x6 only uses .acgame files as launch and config files, no zip, chd, cue or anything else.

I never noticed this was happening until discovering it tonight, and now doing a deeper look I see it's pretty consistent:

Play a Steam game on the same PC Playnite is installed on, playtime tracks fine

Play a Steam game on a different PC than Playnite is installed on, playtime tracks fine as long as the game was played on the Playnite PC at some point

Play a Steam game on a different PC Playnite is installed on, playtime doesn't track at all

"Always" is set under Import Playtime of Games in Library

I am authenticated in the Steam library add-on using the web login method.

These playtimes show correctly in my Steam client and in my account on the Steam webpage.

A weird one. No idea ho

I have redownloaded and reinitialized the Launchbox database but the error still persists. I've also restarted Playnite just to make sure.

I seem able to download metadata from other sources including IGDB, Moby, Steam, SteamGriddb, Wikipedia... pretty much every source I've tried. But no bueno on Launchbox. Thanks.

Project EGG

Question

Scanning around Myrient to see if there's anything off the beaten path to download before it closes down, under No Intro there's a Project EGG directory with about 1400 games. I know what Project EGG is, it's a service in Japan that sells games from various older Japanese computers (MSX, PC-88, PC-98, etc.) and runs them in the store provided launcher.

But what can we do with these files on Myrient? They're all in .bin format. Is there a Project EGG emulator or non-DRM launcher available?

Here's the Project EGG page: https://www.amusement-center.com/project/egg/

Just wondering if anyone has messed around with this before. I downloaded them anyway since it's only 11gb total, but wondering

No, it's not a new mod... because it doesn't need to be. Why do so many people play Doom/mods with texture smoothing on? It seems like 80% of the time I look up a Doom mod on youtube, the person playing makes it look like this:

When cleaning up my library (ex. roms in multiple regions), it would be really handy if when choosing to delete the entry from the database, I could also have it delete the associated file.

It doesn't seem like there's an option for this. Perhaps there's an extension that does this? Thanks.

Have you developed any methods for scraping nice box art and screenshot images when you add/change art game by game via the web image search? So many of the images it returns are tiny or have youtube markings all over them. Adding "launchbox" into the search string can sometimes produce nice images. Also putting "{Platform}" in can help, but sometimes it makes it worse for whatever reason.

I know the Background Image section is setup more for background art, but I tend to dislike 99% of those and would rather have a game screenshot as my background art.

And whoever Alamy is I want to strangle them. Every search will return big, beautiful images from them with watermarks and title bars all

Been doing A/B tests lately of OBS captures of the same game with files about 30 minutes in length at 4K res. HEVC codec will take youtube about 1 hour to process in 4K, but the same in AV1 codec will take 3-4 hours. There's also a ~30 minute delay in processing AV1 at all where HEVC almost always gets processed directly after the upload. It's a shame as it's such a good codec. Produces smaller file sizes yet better quality.

Has this also been your experience? I've read why this is, it's a more complex codec so it just requires more time to process on their end, but 4x as long seems excessive and kind of makes it unusable unless I get into the mindset of "the stuff I upload today will be vi

I had a UPS die on me a little while ago (Cyberpower 1000VA AVR), the unit let out a non-stop beep and everything in the battery side turned off (hard drives in this case) while everything in the surge-only side stayed on. Second time I've had one die on me in a few years but they were both 8+ years old, and supposedly that's a good life span for them.

But regardless, why doesn't the battery side just provide normal A/C power from the wall then like the non-battery side? Does this have something to do with the "uninterruptible power" method, like that portion of the UPS is required to go through the battery and once that's dead, there's no direct A/C path to those outlets?

My terminology p

I just want year release dates in my library, personally I find it useless to have month and date as well.

I see there are some settings that can be changed to make release date Month Year, but reading through both the Playnite and .Net instructions I can't figure out how to make release date display only Year.

Any ideas? I'd have to imagine this can be done but I can't quite figure it. Thanks.
