I know the Bolt was expected to be the alternative to the new Leaf based on size, price range, and specs. But I was disappointed to see the design (and to some degree the specs). It's much closer to the previous generation Leaf compared to the new one.
Any reason for someone to buy the Bolt instead of the Leaf, other than "buying American"?
We're visiting for a couple of days mid February with the kids, and want to explore a few areas in Vancouver (considering moving there in the summer) but at the same time do some fun things, walk around, enjoy good food, explore an art gallery, a museum, an arcade, watch a show, etc.
Should we spend the few nights in Vancouver closer to where we think we want to leave, or get a hotel room in the Pearl District? What I read online about the Pearl in regards to safety is conflicting. Some say it has significantly improved over the past couple of years and it is safe enough considering the size of the city, others complain about homeless people and safety concerns.

Mid 40s, married with kids, family income around 350-400k yearly. Currently living in a moderate COL area, but strongly considering moving back to a HCOL area in the PNW next summer due to work (currently working remotely, sooner or later will have to be closer to headquarters or travel more) and the desire for a more progressive environment. Also kids might end up going to school there (both places are in the same state, 5 hours drive or one hour flight).
Current house is one year away from being paid of, currently valued around 550k. If we rent it out, I expect around 2800-2900 a month rent, before paying management fees and other costs.
In the new area we could rent for approximately
I was charging at a Chevy dealer and out of curiosity I did a test drive with a Chevy Blazer EV since the guy was very eager to do it and I had nothing else to do.
Such a big difference. The Blazer has a gorgeous screen but everything else inside is made of cheap plastics. The entire vehicle looked cheaply made compared to the Ariya (for example, you can see the way the doors close is to precise with the Ariya, while with the Blazer everything is flimsy). The way it drives is different, Ariya despite being described as having a calm manner in reviews, is far more responsive and easier to drive. A much more pleasant driving experience.
Nissan made a great vehicle but missed a big opportun
And how often do you count on charging at the hotel (particularly for one night stays) and find them occupied (by EVs or ICEs) once you get there?
I am getting mixed results using the e-step. Is it more efficient when used in town and less efficient on the highway? Either way, can someone explain the physics behind it?
PlugShare gives me several free chargers nearby located on dealers' lots. What's the etiquette regarding them? Do you only charge there if visiting that dealer? Can you use them after hours? Or when going to another place in the area, can you leave the car there for a few hours connected to the charger?
