My heart doesn't belong anywhere-
Too hard to keep-
Memories fall hard like rain,
no longer fold my hands to pray.
but the river still flows,
the spinning that never waits.
The grass still grows,
high upon the stakes.
I've found comfort in the dark-
and no longer whisper to the countless stars-
The sun is cold and bleeds for none.
Left to feel-
Left to hold-
Just enough beats,
out of reach-

The misted damp glow echoed down
on a darkened figure.
This street was ordinary.
Void of life,
familiar like an old friend.
The stranger dug into denim,
fished around and came to grasp
a hollowed box of matches.
Fire flicked from between shadowed fingers,
bringing a dry heat that halted-
the heary air as it rose,
to spark the tobacco
from where it was perched.
An ember grew orange,
as the darkness dragged in.
On turned heels,
boots scraped the gritty mucked surface.
Smoke chugging behind
as a whistled tune sharpened
the misted air to attention.
Void of life,
familiar like an old friend.

The silence felled glass upon them-
He was far and so was she.
Wading myriad passages of time.
Sequestered through an age of rhymes.
Under the roaming moon-
A sol for its one.
To hold-
To find-
Built in the outgrowth of dreams.
Where the voice of light beam shadows dust-
and the crush of wind raids depth of skin.
The cabin we share- a vow.
To string and shoot our nightful woe.
So blush the arrow for its bow-

In the winters that were colder than this one.
After flowers have shut their eyes,
and all the green aground,
say their last goodbyes.
Where mounds brimmed with custard.
pierced your waning sorrow,
and darkest of it's hour,
shivered splinter bite to marrow.
Echoes ache the cracks of ice,
agreeing in agreeance-
Pale fervent ghost of seasons gale,
slow afront hearths silent tale.
Countless depths drift the hardened snow-
Hushed grace of frost trees humble bow-
Gloam irrational their wayward eaves.
Oh crowded night no company-
Oh wilderness our home-
Truculent the north glanced,
and the grounds perished with cold-

Across a thousand wantings-
In the land of waning nis.
A cavern lost in darkness,
no longer holds the tide-
but down here in the deep,
now found and formed of old.
Where vultures pick at diamonds
from crypt abandoned souls.
The night shifts and ponders-
The wonders about this place-
Chaos peered into the depths
arched its velvet space,
and plucked the glittered vultures
who fed from ancients haste.
He draped a net and stole the souls,
to take back to the sky.
There they glide like fireflies.
amongst the milky high.

On the west bank of the Hudson,
blankets of Mary's grass grows.
The light and warmth it dances,
and calls out to my prose.
Drink my tea of fondness
and lay amongst the green.
For Mary's grass grants wishes
and lines to read between.

Laying there in warmth and light-
You see a petal stall-
The grace and glory which it sails,
Endurance shall befall.
Will it ever hit the ground?
This story ends in tale
You cannot change the moon and tide.
Against the brooms that pale.

Darkness now pricks deep inside.
A paddle grab beside.
Embark back to the eastern bank,
at first is where you cried.
No journey shall begin for you
