I am trying to:

  1. Get more exercise
  2. Meet improvisers outside my bubble
  3. Follow my own advice and actually produce something instead of just theorizing

Take a short bike ride & discuss your improv opinions with me. It'll end up being similar to what's already on my YouTube channel, but live, and with 2 people instead of one. This will be recorded, edited, & posted on the same channel.

Maximum 90 minute ride; I hate long shoots, especially in the summer. Flexible schedule; it just has to happen during daylight hours.

Looking for recommendations on martial arts schools that are not BJJ or MMA focused. I'm fascinated by Silat & Jeet Kune Do, but Google searches are a graveyard of websites & Facebook pages that haven't been active since mid-pandemic.

If you feel really strongly about a Boxing gym, I'll hear you out, but I'm looking for something that lets me kick. I just think kicking is neat. I have good kicking-legs.

And yes, this is partially because a drunk asshole took a swing at me in the Loop during Nascar; get off my balls about it. There are probably also other reasons having to do with exercise & socializing.

I've only ever lived in upstairs apartments, and moved into my first garden unit last month. Been seeing evidence of rats; a few droppings around the front door & scratching noises in the ceiling, both pretty rare; about every two weeks at most. They're not inside the apartment as far as I can tell, and I certainly wouldn't call it an infestation, at least not in my corner of the building.

In your experience, how many rats is too many rats? Is it unrealistic to expect zero rodents in the basement of an old building? Is it a waste of time to report them to the building manager?

In the event it's relevant, my building is one of those big U-shaped complexes in Lakeview, owned by a large-ish,

Did anyone have any first-hand experience with The Crowd? I'd only been in Chicago for a couple months when they shut down; the story I heard is that they'd gone all-in on a move to a new space when the pandemic hit, after which I presume they decided to cut their losses & get out of the brick-and-mortar game.

I don't really have a reason for asking, other than I've been doing a lot of thinking back on all the chaos & loss improvisers experienced in 2020. Just hoping the staff got out of the situation okay, and wondering if they ever started a new space.
