So I published my second book a few days ago, and this morning I received an email, unsolicited, from someone claiming to be a certified KDP expert, offering their services to help promote my book.
Now, generally I ignore all such emails, as they tend to be scams. There were no prices mentioned, and the website linked was very... unprofessional looking.
I don't know if I should name them, as I don't want to break any rules. Just wondering if anyone else has gotten emails like this. They did express how they liked my story, even going into a little detail, so they may well have actually read it, or at least skimmed it.
Anyone have advice?
My sequel to The Eldentree Realm is now available:
Jesse and his companions journey into the Scorched Sands, a harsh and beautiful desert shaped by fire, pride, and forgotten magic.
They arrive as explorers, drawn by the thrill of discovery and the lure of ancient ruins scattered across the red dunes. In the bustling outpost of Red Mesa, they encounter Zahira Kuzal—a fierce warrior whose strength and loyalty soon earn her a place at Jesse’s side.
With the seasoned seeker now among them, the group begins to uncover whispers of a city lost to time—one some would kill to find, and others to keep buried. Rival seekers, tribal alliances, and ancient wards stand between them and the truth.
It's been a wild month for me. Publishing my first book, and waiting to see how it would do. I like to think I did well, though I've not really been able to find a proper benchmark to measure by.
As of today, I have sold over 300 copies. I earned over $4,500.00. I have over 773,000 pages read on Kindle Unlimited. Currently holding 4.7 stars on Amazon with 254 ratings and 26 written, as well as 4.6 on Goodreads with 123 ratings and 11 reviews.
Someone please tell me this is good? I see the wildest variations here, and I am genuinely wondering if I am doing well. Personally, I feel like my first book performed well. And I am most pleased at the sheer amount of ratings I've gotten, it warms
Has anyone done this? My book is selling well, but as book 2 has been progressing along, I wanted to get a cover from the same artist, however they're not responding, their last job was months ago. I decided to with a new one, and found their style to be much more in line with what I wanted. Kinda makes me regret the first cover. Now, I know for Kindle this isn't a problem. But I've sold several paperbacks as well, and I am unsure if I should go with a new cover for book 1.
The new artist showed me a preview of a potential replacement, and I'm kinda loving it. Has anyone done a major edit like this on their books?
My first completed novel is available on Amazon now:
An Inherited Cottage. A Hidden World. A Passionate Adventure.
When Jesse, a down-on-his-luck former Marine, inherits a secluded cottage deep in the Oregon woods, he never expects it to come with a mystical secret. Hidden among its relics, he finds an ancient amulet along with a strange compass - one that doesn’t just shimmer with forgotten magic but transports him to another world: the Ruined Lands.
Here, magic breathes through towering forests and lost cities, and Jesse’s journey soon entangles him with Liriel, a fierce elven beauty yet an outcast among her kind, and Inayah, a playful sylph with an attitude that belies
Hi, I recently published my first novel, but only did so in e-book and paperback format. Someone asked me if it would be on Audible, and I didn't have a clear answer. I never listen to audiobooks myself.
So my questions: what kind of narrator is commonly used? Is it a single person, male or female, who does all the dialogue? Are there multiple voices, for the various characters? Those of you who've published in Audible, where'd you get your narrator(s)?
I'm wanting to see what I'll need, and get an idea of how much it will cost. I understand that despite my preference, people enjoy listening to books, so I'd certainly like to cater to those people as well.
Thanks!
