Thinking to upgrade my mac pro 5,1 to an M4 mac mini. simultaneously thinking to replace my 2017 dell 2 in 1 with an ipad. I'm curious about using the ipad as a terminal to access my mac mini desktop environment and pretty much live in that full time. Probably mostly home use but the ability to remote connect from a different network could be cool and useful.

Anyone running this? what's the latency like? Sidecar vs Jump vs Screens vs other?

I was running mojave on a 2012 mac pro 5,1 and decided i wanted to try a newer OS. I had a spare drive, so i installed sonoma through oclp which worked well enough. I stupidly thought i would be able to boot either sonoma or Mojave since they're on separate drives, but trying to boot the mojave disk gives me the stop sign. It also removed my ability to access a windows 10 drive i also have in the machine (mojave+bootchamp let me boot into windows 10 without the bootloader)

I think id like to revert my mac pro to as it was last week and invest in a new mac machine for a current os. However, i dont know if there is a straightforward/painless way to do this. I do have time machine backups and

I was driving on the highway this evening when a clicking sound developed from my engine bay. i wasn't getting any indicators on the cluster so i figured maybe something was kicking loose. I got maybe another mile and lost power. Checking under the hood, my coolant cap blew off and coolant was spewing everywhere. I've got the car at the shop now, but they won't be open till monday and I'd like to get some idea of what I'm looking at. I understand the head gasket is unreliable on this series, but I didn't notice any oil mixed with the coolant.
