My clipping is growing a new plant from the -middle- of the stem instead of the end. Kinda cool.
reddit.com/gallery/1607hcfLast summer we had a large stamped concrete patio put in. There were a lot of issues with the crew, even so far as me having to ask them to correct the forms because the walkway was not all one width and the turns were not round and even. Now we are finding that they did not compact the Earth underneath the patio around our house as they should have and they did not add road base.
We live in a new build, and there was some expected settling of the ground around the entire house. But I would have expected the crew that we paid to have do the patio would have at least compacted around the patio and put road base down. The ground here has been very moist and due to this we have had some settl
Not sure why so many leaves are coming in so pale. They seem healthy. Is there a fertilizer recommended that can help?
reddit.com/gallery/10ygi2kMy battery died a couple days ago, (at a worse time than usual). Getting a new battery is no big deal, but we want to ensure we are never trapped at home again. Growing up my uncle had a wall plugin battery recharger at his shop that would at least give you enough juice to turn the vehicle on and get going. It was rather large and on wheels.
I don't think we need that big of a charger...can anyone recommend the right size/power and maybe a brand?
We have two cross overs, one 10 year old and one 2 year old.
We have a large stamped concrete patio that is sealed. It was completed this summer and has been doing good this winter, though it's pretty slick.
The issue comes in with my older pup not being able to handle cold as well anymore when she's out to potty. She goes out to pee and has to come back in to warm up before braving the cold again to do the rest of her business...more often than not, I have to go rescue her because her feet are so cold even if she's been out only a minute. Lots of snow is also an issue for her.
I was considering putting a warming mat or two on the patio and turning them on a tiny bit before I let her out. That way there is less snow and a place she can stand for
First time gardener here!
I have a bad back and am planning to get two large garden boxes that are raised on legs. This should make it so I can safely tend to the garden and avoid injury. Most of the boxes I've seen are made from cedar, which is naturally resistant to rot. I was thinking that a treatment of mineral oil may help further protect the wood and extend the life of the garden boxes. I'm just unsure if this will cause issues for the plants. I'm also considering adding some supports to the belly of the box as the more common complaint I found in reviews is failure due to the weight and/or wood. Any advice would be appreciated!
We will be growing a mix of veggies and fruits. Tomatoe
I am interested in purchasing/comissioning a very large cutting board that will essentially straddle a kitchen island. We close on the house next month and I thought this would be beautiful, functional, and excellent surprise gift for my husband who loves smoking meats and needs a large cutting and prepping surface. I'm sure we would also use it daily or as a food display for small gatherings.
(I still need to measure but I'm guessing the island will be about 4x6 foot or so. So a 4ft straddle that is 2.5 to 3ft wide. Theoretically it would slide to different positions on the 6ft length of island.)
Some questions:
- Is this a bad idea?
- Will this look/seem tacky?
- What tips do you have
