Although self hosting does no preclude commercial software, many here prefer FOSS.
Determining if somethin actually is FOSS can be difficult. This site helps: https://isitreallyfoss.com/
I have no affiliation with that site. I just think it may be useful. https://isitreallyfoss.com/
I have a user that very occasionally needs to edit PDFs to redact some data.
What's good, please?
If you intend to play with OpenClaw, be very very careful.

Can you recommend an EU or UK based DNS provider with API?
We only have four domaIns. Our current provider wants stupid money to enable API.
How's your migration going?
Just in case anyone else runs into this:
On attempting to change password, Entra gave a user "Password does not meet policy requirements" error.
After I chasing the obvious password policy issues, ChatGPT susggested looking at Entra admin center > Password reset.
Previous MSP set it to selected, but with no group, so SSPR was effectively disabled.
Thanks Microsoft for providing an unhelpful error message.
The pre-installed OneNote in Windows 10 is going away.
ESU won't help you either.

They have a old Avaya phone system:
-
IP 500 V2 vontrol unit
-
9600 series phones
All of the phoneas are on static IP adresses. We need to change them to DHCP
I had a dig through the Avaya online docs, but like most telecomm docs they are quite opaque.
Does anyone know how to reconfigur these phones, please?
Or do you know of any comms provider that still supports this old stuff that we could get in for a day? Location is Newbury, UK.
We have an Access database with forms. On the forms there are buttons that have a small bitmap image and text.
After the latest Office update, the buttons are blank. If you edit the button, and delete the bitmap, the text re-appears. But we don't want to edit dozens of buttons, and don't really want to lose the images as the user base is used to them.
This is definite related to the update.
-
If you take the same Access app to another PC where Offices not yet updated, the buttons display correctly.

If you take the same Access app to another PC where Offices has been updated, the buttons are broken.

The same behaviour is seen with different users.
Has anyone seen similar behav
In M365, besides a user's email address [email protected] they also have an email address in the form [email protected].
Depending on what mail filter you use, sending an email to [email protected] will bypass the filter because it uses a different mx record.
This is obviously a risk.
You can fix this by using an Exchange online transport rule:
if address includes example.mail.onmicrosoft.com reject.
If you think it is appropriate you can reject with a response to the sender telling them why.
