Gemini and Grok are too far behind to catch up now. Claude has the edge in every way and the rate of shipping is escalating to the point of recursive improvement due to the coding edge and talent that Anthropic has. ChatGPT is good still but they also don't have all the different features that Claude has for productivity. The UI/UX of Claude is the absolute best, the desktop app interface with Cowork is unique, now Design is out, and now they're addressing the compute with the new deals too. I suppose the compute edge of OpenAI is the only thing that could affect things in a big way, but Claude was built better from the ground up, IMO.

GPT5 just doesn't hit the same. All the auto-routing, the less thinking time to cut costs, the output is more concise, etc. I made the most breakthroughs with o3 and it was just more fun to use. Maybe it is an unpopular opinion. I don't like all the UI/UX updates they've done, and outputs still feel like they've lost some soul or ingenuity even with the personality updates.

I'm surprised, I was among the bigger Gemini haters for awhile, I always thought it was the worst out of all of them. I was frustrated with the lackluster output and reliability and features compared to the others. But ChatGPT has gotten stale/annoying and keeps making the UI/UX worse, at least on mobile. Gemini has provided some really well thought out answers and seems to use research/science to back up its replies consistently, while ChatGPT just uses sources on the web. It honestly feels like the best to me now and really consistent in its quality. Claude is good but not as much for just casual chat or web/research based answers, but its still great for work stuff. Grok has strengths too

https://support.claude.com/en/articles/12429409-extra-usage-for-max-20x-plans

How extra usage works

When you reach your Max 20x plan’s usage limit with extra usage enabled:

  1. You'll see a notification that you've reached your session usage limit.
  2. If extra usage is enabled, you can choose to continue working.
  3. Your subsequent usage will be billed at standard API pricing rates.
  4. Your session limits reset every five hours as usual.

Anyone that has used this to confirm it doesn't affect weekly limits?

edit: Actually, I found this from the email in July, but not sure if it still applies, given

Missing Canvas

Programming

The new canvas is crap so I disabled it. It's really annoying for code iteration (I have no need for codex) since it is now within the chat instead of a separate window. It takes a long time to update full programs, this feature of Claude's makes a big difference. Anybody else in the same boat?
