I tried to settle on an orbital platform by putting a grav anchor there and the mechanoids decided that was their target. By the time I could get back to the place to try and rescue the two colonists living there, raids were starting. Nobody could launch the ship by the time the cooldown had finished.
Is it actually supposed to work this way? What's the point of the grav anchor if the game sends impossibly large mech raids to destroy anywhere you settle? From the in-game lore it seems like they are chasing the ship
