I’m a new lawyer, I’ve been working for a couple years. On pace to earn around $150,000-160,000 gross this year with bonuses. Given that I was in school for so long (and not really earning) I’ve only recently started investing. My basic stats are as follows:

- FHSA maxed with $24,000 in contributions.

- TFSA with $27,000 in contributions and $96,000 in accrued room.

- $45,000 sitting in the bank doing nothing.

-$60,000 in RRSP room (none contributed)

- Only debt is $18,000 in federal student loans at 0% interest.

Ignoring my cash in the bank, I’m able to aggressively invest a large portion of my salary, around $4,000 a month. I’m expecting a $40,000 bonus or so at the end of

Have a nice bonus coming from work in the next couple weeks, want to buy a polymer "tactical" lever like a S&W Stealth Hunter in .357/.38.

This is going to be a firearm I'm going to want to build up (skeletonized stock, cartridge quiver, light, optic, etc).

Looking for options on a good base rifle to start with. The S&W is great obviously but I'm looking at $2k for just the rifle plus extras. Want to consider my options for good base rifles to start with that have good aftermarket support.

*UPDATE* How would you make this "presentable?"

Is there a process to repair this?

Some of you may have seen my post a couple weeks ago asking for tips about cleaning up my bumper.

Well, here is the final result. Maybe a bit tough to believe it's the same bumper. Steps taken were:

  1. Remove the bumper from the truck and strip all the plastic off it.
  2. Hit everything with a wire wheel to get the bad rust off.
  3. Sanded it 180 - 320 - 600 using a combination of palm sander and sanding block.
  4. Primer and paint.

If I really wanted it as close to 100% as possible I would have used bondo to fill in the pitting but I wasn't that ambitious. I was i

Take their joggers for example. The Crest joggers have the same inside leg length for all seven sizes yet I have a M and L of the same joggers and the L are a few inches longer (which is better for me).

Make's it terrible trying to figure out what size to buy and such a waste of shipping resources and time buying and exchanging items.

I initiated an $11,000 transfer into my FHSA on December 27th. The money was pulled from my bank account on December 29th and was invested per my orders on the same date.

Notwithstanding the above, my deposit is still listed as "pending" on Wealthsimple.

Just wondering if I'm going to have any tax issues if my deposit isn't "complete" today even though the money is already there and invested. I obviously want this $11,000 to count towards my 2025 contributions.

I'm in a bit of a dilemma.

I started golfing much more this summer opposed to previous years, and while I'm not great, I'm "decent" and on on the verge of breaking 100 (I score honest, no gimmes or mulligans, count penalties and drops).

The "problem" I face is I'm a tall guy, close to 6'5" and currently using a beginner set of Top Flight Inertia clubs that are quite short, so I am very bent over when I'm hitting the ball.

I think it's time I get fitted for a proper set of clubs, but I am also interested in taking lessons. I imagine with a fitting I'd end up with extended shafts over standard length clubs.

The problem is, I don't know which I should do first. Getting lessons will likel

Hi all!

I will be flying to Portgual out of YUL on Monday. I have a four hour layover and my Visa gives me access to the following lounges:

  1. Desjardins

  2. Air France / KLM

  3. Aspire

  4. National Bank

Wondering which will be the best lounge to choose!

“Now, I'll say this. I think the NHL has been working hard and on some of these teams about injuries. And I've mentioned it in previous pods. If you look at it, Dougie Hamilton came back in game 82. Tyler Seguin came back in game 82”

“I can't prove it, but to me, I find it very interesting, because in the past, some of these guys might have waited until game one. And the fact that those guys played game 82 and Evander Kane is not playing game one for Edmonton, I don't know that I believe in coincidences”

“I think these are some situations where the league was like, we want to see

I (was) a bit of a career student. I did 6 years of undergrad and 3 years of grad school and have amassed a bit of an absurd amount of tuition credits. I current have $33,000 federal and $28,000 provincial.

My tax return for 2023 was $4,000 largely due to tuition credits. That was my first post-graduation half-year of working.

I worked full time in 2024 and my refund currently showing on Turbo Tax is $9,500 which is basically all the tax I paid in 2024.

But where I'm confused is that in my "summary" on Turbo tax its telling me that I can't carry any more credits forward.

Is this correct? I was basically in school for a decade and have only been working for

I'll preface this by saying my truck has 210,000 KM and I do have timing chain rattle on cold start, I don't know if these issues are related.

My truck semi-regularly will have terrible throttle response when I drive it. I mean I put my foot to the floor and it doesn't build more than 10 PSI of boost (normal is 17-18 at WOT) and will lug it's way up to highway speeds.

If I pull over and do a TPS reset procedure the truck will be its peppy self again when I turn it back on. But a day or two later it will go sluggish again.

There are no codes when this is happening. I do every so often get a P0016 code but we're talking once
