I just played through a sequence of events that was quite incredible the way it turned out.

Spoilers on the Trosky main quest (Necessary Evil)

!After interrogating the prisoner at Trosky castle, I rode with the Bergov's men to confront the Semines. As Henry, I don't care much about honor, and focus on reaching objectives through any means necessary, often violence. Upon arriving at the Semine estate, I agreed with the Burgrave and told the Semines to give up Olda or face the consequences. !<

!I didn't know what would happen exactly as in my previous playthrough I sided with the Semines. After the fight was done, I was caught off guard by the Burgrave's orders to "do whatever you lik

Hi, I'm trying to figure out which headset would be a good upgrade to HTC Vive (original, not pro or cosmos) given these requirements:

- overall improved visual quality/fidelity: more resolution, less glare, less/no screen door effect

- more FOV

- should be more comfortable (lighter or better balanced)- needs at least as big of a nose cutout as Vive, preferably a bit deeper if possible, since my nose isn't tiny

- doesn't matter if light houses are needed - as long as it's not a downgrade in terms of tracking

- not in a hurry, can wait for unreleased headsets as well

The price of the headset/accessories isn't really much of a factor, but I don't want to splurge on something that is

Turns out, VR requires a very fast GPU. I mean, I thought my R9 Fury would be basically fine since it runs most games fairly well on 1440p, but oh boy it's not even close to being fast enough.

A jitter-free experience with HTC Vive requires a minimum of constant 45 fps per eye. Literally any drop below that produces very disturbing jittering when looking around. There's no fix for that (that I know of!), and even on newer GPUs which support motion smoothing, that feature benefits you only when you can render at least 45 fps. Unfortunately, as I've been tinkering around with the settings, I've found no reasonable compromise in image quality that would produce constant 45 fps when on plan

It might be a good idea to opt back out of the experimental Vulkan branch and let the game set itself back to the current main branch before the Beyond update is pushed. I don't know how HG has planned the update's deployment with regard to the experimental branch, but in theory, it's possible you can't even download the Beyond update in the experimental branch and you have to manually opt out anyway. It's also possible that the experimental branch will be removed and users are automatically opted out of it. Personally, I'm not taking any changes, I'm going to opt out in advance of the update just to remove any possibility of things going out of whack due to being in the experimental branc

I woke up at 6.00 to the thought that patch notes were released, then I dozed off and dreamt about reading them for an hour. For the life of me I can't remember what was in them.

In preparation for Beyond, I've been tagging planets with base computers so I can return to them in VR and then commit to building a home on one of them. While exploring, I came up with a naming system that can be used to quickly recall what the planet is like. This saves from having to teleport there to check, which makes a big difference once your list of tagged planets grows.

For me, its most common use case is to tag lush planets with good weather and non-hostile sentinels. As such, the tag is composed of only three necessary bits of info: system/star colour, ground colour and sky colour. However, often a fourth bit is needed to indicate water colour because most planets I tag have wate
