The basic news is that we brought a Xerox Iridesse from the US to Spain. It has been out of service in storage for two years but previously was on a service contract. 7.5m clicks. Xerox here has been basically strong-arming us into significant upgrades and modifications to the machine before they would be willing to put it on a service agreement, which I originally didn't want to. They prohibit others from working on the machines independent of Xerox authorization and don't provide training for techs to service the Iridesse outside of the company. Additionally, parts are very expensive and they've controlled the ecosystem here to such a point that nobody else wants to touch it. To Xerox dire
So, we just moved a Xerox Iridesse from the US to Spain with a new XLS High Capacity Vacuum Feeder. The costs in Spain for basic service calls or to put the machine in service have been out of control. Using the Xerox technicians to assemble the machine and do the initial maintenance required to put the machine in service is going to cost roughly 15.000 €.
However, this isn't even the most surprising part. In order to enter into a service agreement with Xerox, they would require us to buy a new Fiery server which they're saying will cost us about 25.000 €. I have at the moment no idea what's wrong with our current Fiery Server, which from what I can tell is running version 6 (I think).

I am so used to instant transfers these days, I had completely missed anywhere it saying it could take any longer amount of time than instantly for a Hyatt redemption for American "status for a day" to show up in my AAdvantage account. I'm traveling on AA in two days, and may have all sorts of extra luggage with me, thought this would be a good use of the points, and just kind of figured I could buy the award and use it immediately. Turns out, according to AA, it can take up to 72 hours, and Hyatt is saying it can take up to 7 business days. But, these are "up to" figures, so I'm hoping folks have seen these appear much faster than what they're saying.
Does anyone have any data points here?

We recently acquired a used Xerox Iridesse and I'm trying to buy a XLS feeder for it. So far, I've been transferred between at least 4 phone numbers, and been disconnected three times. When I finally got to billable supplies, the woman on the phone said she could transfer me to a different internal team that could handle the purchase (without a public phone number), I was again disconnected.
I don't know how to place this order or to whom I should speak. I'm not sure spending around $8k should be so difficult. Does anyone have a phone number for billable parts for production units or could someone at Xerox who does sales for production units connect with me? Thank you!
We're looking on installing a window patching system and I'm wondering if anyone here has any experience with the equipment. Ideally, a lightly used Heiber & Schroeder or Kohmann I think would do the job, but there are a lot of seemingly reliable Chinese manufacturers of this equipment offering it new for very, very cheap (relatively). I'm wondering if anyone here has any experience on this kind of equipment or has worked with any Chinese brands and if you'd be willing to share your experiences. With, say, a H&S, have you found the equipment reliable? Any blips or hiccups worth noticing? Has any brand really been a pain to operate over any other? Thanks in advance for any thoughts.
Well, I’m doing a lot of late work over the next few days packing things up and need a late UPS drop off. UPS’ locator is completely wrong pretty much all the time. UPS has just thrown on stickers saying the drop box times have gotten earlier but nobody’s taken the time to update their website/app. The Bailey location says 8pm online but it’s actually 5pm. There’s no drop off listed at the airport which is often the latest location in any city.
Anyone know if there’s any facility with a later drop off then 5-6pm? I kinda can’t believe the folks at Bailey aren’t able to pop outside to the drop box one last time around 8 or 9pm before the air shipments get sent off to the airport. It feels li
So, I got into what I thought was a fender bender in my 2013 Explorer Limited. However, somehow, the damage exceeded the value of the car and the insurance company decided to total it. So, I need a new car.
There's a 2021 Explorer Platinum that has the features I want at a dealership nearby at a fairly reasonable price. I'm just wondering about the 2021s as I've heard mixed reviews. Anyone have one of these and can comment? Anything I should look out for? Any repairs I should be expecting? Has Ford figured out its transmission issues? Paint still a problem? Any issue with the moonroof motor rusting like I experienced several times on my 2013?
Any experience at all is super valuable, as I'm
Some background: I’m 42yo, 6’0” and about 180 lbs. I live in Toronto so would be doing a lot of stop and go riding but want a bike I could do trips as far as Buffalo with and something I could really enjoy taking it outside the city on country roads.
I have some experience riding borrowed bikes from a couple of years back but I haven’t been back on a real bike for over a year. I have a scooter I take behind my RV, a Piaggio BV250 with a variable automatic transmission that is really easy to drive used primarily for grocery runs while at camp but want something punchier that I could really enjoy. I would prefer to get something that I can maneuver and handle well in city traffic but that I c
I am trying to get a shipment on UPS tracking XXXXXX. It is a small parcel shipped on July 30th from Shenzhen, China, a full week ago, using UPS Saver service, which is supposed to be 1-3 days for delivery.
I have been told by no fewer than 4 separate UPS agents that it has physically departed China. What is so frustrating is that from my own 15 years of experience shipping internationally and reading these tracking, I know it hasn't and I just feel like an ass telling them they're wrong because, well, they WORK FOR UPS. But, I was able to get the problem escalated to a supervisor who absolutely promised me that in her system, which I cannot see, the shipment shows that it has physically de
I honestly don't know why I am having so much trouble finding this information online and even ChatGPT gave me a vague answer that wasn't much help. The CRA's website doesn't make anything any clearer.
I am in Ontario and almost all of my customers are resellers with their own GST or PST accounts with the CRA or provincial governments. I am fairly certain that the GST portion (5%) always has to be charged and the my customers can recover that with input tax credits, but I am completely confused when it comes to sorting out provincial rules.
I used to live and work in the US, and there, it's really simple: if you have a resale certificate from your customer, you simply don't charge sales ta
