Hello everyone, I’m currently working on a fresh floral scent with a touch of complexity. However, I’m encountering a powdery note that I’m trying to push into the background, but it keeps shifting the character of the fragrance. I suspect this powdery effect is coming from Irone Alpha, even though it’s used at a very low concentration—only 0.17% of the total oil blend (100% oil, alcohol excluded).

To reduce this effect, I’ve already lowered the amounts of ingredients known to enhance powdery notes, such as Vanillin, Coumarin, Peonile, and Rose Crystals, all of which are used at levels not exceeding 2% each.

The main components in the blend—those taking up the largest percentages—are: •

Hello everyone, I have something that’s been bothering me — it’s the difficulty of smelling and evaluating scents when working with diluted materials, whether at 10% or less.

Many of the formulas I create end up having a very weak scent when diluted, making it hard to judge them, even though they smell harmonious. The proof is that when I try the same blend undiluted, it smells very strong and clear, and I can confidently evaluate it and proceed with adjustments — I’m sure of that.

But working with undiluted materials all the time is quite expensive, and I can’t afford to do that for every experiment.

I know there might not be a perfect solution, but maybe someone has ideas or suggestio

Hello, how is everyone?

I’ve noticed that in many perfume formulas—especially the ones sold on formula-selling websites—the ingredient quantities are very far apart from each other. I don’t understand how that can be achieved. I sometimes think maybe it’s part of a base, but then I say to myself: since it’s from a site that sells full formulas, I doubt it. Because if it were a base, it would be mentioned. But these are just materials in different amounts.

Another thing is that I conduct my experiments using ingredients that I’ve diluted to 10%. And when I try to build and test these kinds of formulas to learn from them, the ingredient amounts are so far apart that I’d need at least 30 gram

I want to express something I’ve been struggling with, though I’m not sure if it’s truly a problem or just a lack of experience — so I apologize in advance. I always find it difficult to create a scent that leans more toward the feminine side, like the ones I often find in women’s perfumes: soft, pink, powdery, floral, jasmine-like. These elements seem to be a constant in feminine fragrances.

Even though I’ve been working in this field for two years and have many materials at my disposal, despite many, many attempts, I often end up with something that smells like a flat rose — even if the formula is complex — or a jasmine that is too sharp. And when I add iris to make it powdery, it ends

Hello everyone, I hope you’re all doing well.

I’ve finished working on a perfume and now I want to place an order to produce it in larger quantities. However, I noticed that the oils in the formula come from three different suppliers.

Do you think it would make a big difference if I bought all the oils from just one supplier, assuming they are exactly the same materials?

There are many topics about maceration and other related methods, but I haven’t found clear information about freezing the perfume and filtering it before bottling. Is this correct and important?

All I know is that I first mix the oil alone, then add the alcohol, followed by antioxidants and UV stabilizers, mix it slightly, and let it macerate for a few weeks or a month before bottling. Is that sufficient?

Are the percentages of antioxidants and UV stabilizers calculated based on the total volume of the perfume including alcohol?

I want to launch a few perfumes I’ve created in small quantities. I’m looking to prepare the bottles along with the box and printing.

In my city, I can find wholesale bottles in packs of 12 or 20 at a reasonable price. However, perfume boxes or printing services usually require a minimum order of 200 to 300 units, which my budget doesn’t allow for, as this is my first launch.

On Alibaba, I find very good prices, even for orders of 100 bottles or boxes, but the shipping cost is often higher than the cost of the items themselves, and I also worry about the quality.

Can you recommend a supplier who offers a full service — bottles, box, and printing — with excellent quality and reasonable p

What are the total oil restrictions? Based on the restricted molecules in the oil, there doesn’t seem to be any component that would significantly limit the maximum usage level.

I started making perfumes and learning about materials and experimenting around a year and a half ago. I have knowledge of many materials and currently own around 300 of them.

However, when I smell original perfumes to explore scents and learn from them, I find that there’s still so much I don’t know.

I want to improve my understanding of materials and get to know all their aspects. Even though I’ve tried many of them, smelled them, and used them in different blends, I still feel like there’s always something I’m missing. I don’t know how it’s possible to fully understand every aspect of these materials, especially with how many there are.

I truly love this hobby and enjoy developing my
