Ads in Overwatch

News & Discussion

For those that haven't heard the news, Microsoft (owns Blizzard) has patented ads in videogames. OW is their cash cow so this is almost certainly getting added in the near future. Realistically they will play ads while queueing. Hopefully they dont also add an artificial queue minimum length to ensure adds are seen in full or a specific quantity.

When this gets added are people planning to take a break for a while? This seems like the only way to get their attention and remove ads. Obv streamers have the widest reach to playerbase, has anyone heard streamers mentioning the chance of ads being added?

I recently got TFiber, and do alot of online gaming (esports). I noticed when comparing to my previous ISP (also fiber) that my latency doubled in the online games I play. After some trace route tests and geo IP lookups I can see 100% of my traffic is sent all the way from Wisconsin to Texas. Even servers that I use for work that are 2 miles from my house -- all my traffic to them has to first go down to Dallas and then comes back up to Wisconsin.

This was originally sold as Metronet who ran fiber the other year in my neighborhood, and was bought by TFiber

I've been testing the Asus XG27AQDPG (QDOLED 500hz) and came across something I hadn't seen discussed before.

When I have VRR turned ON in the monitor OSD, my in game frame rate is automatically capped at 438fps. This seems really odd that it would limit the framerate 62 frames lower than native.

This is independent of whether I have gsync enabled, or vsync (nvcp).

If I turn off VRR, the in game framerate cap goes away (uncapped) and my FPS jumps up to 600fps (Overwatch 2).

The Dev team deserves HUGE credit for their engagement and follow through immediately after the launch of the game. The game released just 1 week ago and we've had several updates and continual social media comms that let the community know they see and hear us, and are taking QUICK ACTION to address concerns.

This is in the face of user community barking orders and making demands and even insults. Within the past few days there are several posts of ALL CAPS from redditors that come across as far too aggressive and immature. This exact behavior from the community is what drove the Devs away shortly after the release of BF4.

Hi Everyone, does anyone know how to copy the configuration settings over? Primarily just looking for keybinds and mouse sensitivity.

Whats odd is I played the beta on Steam and have pre-ordered on Steam, and when checking the install folder its not showing me the files. I verified game integrity and went through the install and day one patch as well.

Does anyone with Falcon Complete notice that most times AI instantly closes the ticket with no details of what was done? I'm left wondering if the endpoint is still infected and what happened to the file (not listed in quarantine)?

9/10 times CrowdStrike labels these true positive detections as a PUP, convenient for them since Falcon Complete won't touch PUP with a 10 foot pole. When you run the file hash through virus total it comes back with lots of scanners saying it's Trojan/Malware
