SPOILERS - I datamined to try to figure it out, but now I'm just more puzzled.
This is what I'm making of the code that applies to the drug:
item applies conditions 844 and 851 when used
844 literally does nothing but say "Player has just taken an orange pill."
851 is an onset condition and does nothing initially, lasts 8 hours
851 applies 4 conditions but has a vChanceNext of 0.1 - not exactly sure what this means in the context of multiple effects (10% chance for each at the end of the 8 hours? 10% chance to apply one of the effects each hour for the 8 hours?)
607 is abdominal pains for 24 (!!) hours:
increases pain by 30% (!!)
decrease
Can tornadoes be affected by anything at all? If you get anywhere near a perpendicular wall, you're dead, most damage seems to do nothing ("unaffected" rather than miss or armour), and they're too fast to do outmanuever. The best I can conclude is that if you open a golden door without about 90% armour, you die. Am I missing something?
I'm not fluent enough with Crawl's language to determine what random.cc actually does. What I do know is that int random2(N) can only return integers and essentially acts as 1dN - 1. What I'm wondering is, for instance, can random2(2.8) ever return 2? If not, then would random2(2.8) be equivalent to random2(2.0) or would it affect the probability distribution?
The wiki doesn't make it clear how the level of severity is selected for a miscast. Does this depend on the spell level or the color of the failure chance text (yellow=1, orange=2, red=3)? Is it constant for a given spell and failure chance?
The wiki states that the clone command fails if one or both regions are not currently rendered. Does this have anything to do with whether a chunk is loaded? Does it have anything to do with the view distance definition of "rendered?"
